Wow her voice has gotten richer. I liked it before in a strange ugly duckling/Neil Young kind of way, but now it's swan-like...early Joni Mitchell, but more character. I imagine her evolving even more over time.

Alright, I will finally admit. I never thought I would say this: Joanna Newsom is definitely an acquired taste. When I first heard her I was sort of shocked and honestly thought it was a joke. Then as I listened and listened, I just listened. She really is a great artist. Just wow. This song I was listening to it, and I did not even hear the vocals. I heard the actual -music-. It is just beautiful. Seriously beautiful.

When I first started going to youtube videos to hear her music I was suprised how many people could not stand her voice. I think her voice is soulful and the lyrics are the best around for a modern artist, they tell a story like a folklore. I love her music.

Calling a woman ugly and dragging people with disabilities and medical conitions into it (with that "fits" comment.) She's an unusual performer, so I have no expectation that someone will just necessarily like her-- and do not feel surprised and offended to hear it when they do not. But its not necessary to start spreading hate, that certainly is not what Joanna is trying to do.

This one has its charms! Emphasizes the lyrics much more also, which are brilliant. if you notice it used to be she took her "heart to task" and now it's "god to task". And the part where she says "all day you hassle me" now sounds positively heavenly.
