@RobotOnLine Yes i have the MR Star Fleet Assault Phaser. Last year there was an auction for a MR First Contact Phaser on ebay. But at around 550 Euro i had to quit. With a hobby like this you nearly have to be a millionaire. Now i'm looking for an acrylic case for the tricorder but i can' t find one in Germany. Hope EFX will make some more Star Trek Replicas in the future.

I didn't know you put up a vid recently Kev....and to my surprise its a review on a piece that's been on my wish list for a while now. The Tricorder looks fantastic and badass displayed in the case!!! Although that piece cost a pretty penny I'm gonna pick 1 up early next year, maybe the Medical Tricorder as well.....for a decent price that is lol. Thanks again bro for another detailed and in depth review.... you're the best :)

@willosaurus1 I love Star Trek, in particular Next Gen and Voyager, and the original series a close second. I think it's because they all get with each other and are just good people...if only the world could be the same.

Well maybe we have one advantage, we don't get to battle Borg and Cardassian's :-)

Nice review! I saved a bit of money by not buying the Acrylic cover which I think EFX should have supplied especially considering the cost. Still a damn good replica though! Its amazing how many people have been less than impressed about this replica until thay actually hold it and feel the cold heavy weight of the metal and then its just a matter of time before they open it and you watch their faces drop with astonishment! Nice one!

@photographicleigh The main reason why I got the case is for continuity, I have several Master Repliacs pieces and they all have the cover, it just made sense at the time. Still I agree with what you say, it should be standard.

I've had those youtube trolls sniffing around my graveyard as well. The solution, I've found, is to just let it go. The more trolls the merrier. However, I did decide to delete many of my videos and upload them again due to poor video quality. After the comments are deleted they feel that you did it to delete the comment. They figure that I'm not as egotistical as they assumed if I would delete big ratings like 85K on one video. Nobody comments me anymore, I do miss it.

Great prop Kev like all details on this phenomenal piece!! I think this was the better choice as from MR ..anyways 100/100 :) btw I loved the new generation & deep space nine as well cuz they were very connected to each other and Voyager (pahhhh) lolll sorry but the captain was a lesbian XD (joke) ...p.s. tricorders are cool. The plaque does look good though.

Have to say though i loved ds9 and thought it was the best of the star trek series. Voyager just couldn't get into it to be honest. It wasn't until season 4 though that it really kicked off. The earlier seasons look so lame now lmao.

Pity they still aren't making star trek programs.

@holtrax2009 Most people tend to be split about Voyager and DS9, you either love one or the other but never both.

I hope they do start another ST series of some sort but I have my doubts, at least not anytime soon.

Great Review ! I'm first of all a big Star Wars fan, but i can also appreciate Star Trek alot. I grew up watching "Star Trek ; The Next Generation" and got the whole series in those futuristic boxes before they went off the market. The last movie that was recently in the cinemas was awesome too !

I like Star Trek, I was a big fan of the OS and TNG and the Movies, but I did care for any other Star Trek TV shows after TNG finished.

@dinolast I remember being very sceptical when TNG started, I was so set in my ways with the OS. Even when I watched the first series, I thought, nah!

And then after seeing a few more episodes I was hooked, in my opinion it even excelled over the OS.

Great replica Kevin! As you know I'm not a Trek fan but I love the props. Master Replicas were amazing...infact i just got outbid on the Alien Tracker (by £10!!) on eBay! I was at work and using my iPhone and I couldn't get my bid in quick enough! I did win the Sideshow T-800 Arnie bust though...which is my Grail piece!!

@masterreplicasguy eFX are pretty much the same people who ran Master Replicas so I don't have any issues with quality but the acrylic cover should be included in my opinion. Yes, I would buy from them again.

But you also opened my eyes to eFx and well im not impressed at all, no cover, plaque to big, over priced, that sucks ass indeed. Nice tricorder! seems like much a sturdier and dynamic prop than I first gave it credit for. I like the LED filtering feature, and overall weightiness in a hand prop is almost always desirable to me, even if accuracy-wise it's too heavy, vs. being too light. At $550 I still think I gonna have to pass tho XD And hey what're you drinking there? Some brew-licious import I should be aware of?
