Photoshop Tutorial - Burning Planet!

Hi man!

Amazing vid but I have a problem. Maybe it's a very noob question but i hope you'll answer it. How did you start making this planet? When you click a new project and what next? I can't choose DIFFERENCE CLOUDS when I'm on 8 bit I can do it only on 16 bit but then many options in the FILTER are grey, so I can't pick them. Can you help me please?

ok this just so you know its not an isult but to make the circles faster put the cursor in the middle then pres alt+shift and then while still pressing it click and drag out
