  • Those last few notes you hit were really amazing!

  • Maybe it was the nerves but I felt as if in the beginning you were just a tad shaky in terms of the placement of your voice when you were singing the high "Fiyero"'s, However, I think the ending was VERY strong. The ending to me was the best part because your voice was just perfect. I'd say work on the placement of the beginning Fiyero's... and trust me I realize that it's not an easy task, nor is it an easy song. I enjoyed it.

  • I'm no critic of anyones voice, but I'll say this for you: To attempt this song, one of the hardest on Broadway is a feat, no matter how you did. If I may say this though: I'd encourage you to work on the high notes, like for example when you reach "My generous supply", where you need to go fairly high, sounded a little bit weak. It wasn't a mistake by any means though.

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • girl, ypu got it, amazing, congrats, im a mexico Wicked fan and you totally owned the song, check out my videos to please, rate and comment, we have in common our pasion to musicals, music and singing of course, good way to go!!

  • Really Nice!

  • I must say, when you started the song, i was not expecting you to hit the long note at the end... But you did and that song is not easy. It requires emotions, performance, and vocals. You did great now get over to Broadway and audition for the part!

  • When are you coming to broadway?

  • wow for someone just coming off a fever you are really good!

  • Are you SURE you were sick while singing this?

  • Very very good. I am a huge fan of Wicked so I loved this-even have a collection of stuff! The only thing i would work on is making sure to keep the notes from being nasaly. Not to say they were the whole piece at all. Just one or two spots where there are short vowels it would get a little nasaly. But i doubt anyone in the audience noticed it. Take it from a Music industry (recording) major - mics are much harder on you than human ears! o and your diction is fine - it's that crappy microphone.

  • You got a great voice

  • The best part of the song starts at 3:21. It's not that the beginning was bad, it just seemed like you were trying to replicate what you have heard other people do. But, at the end you made the song completely your own, and that's what made the ending so powerful in my opinion. :)

  • You are awsome. You should try for the national tour of wicked

  • You did a great job. I could hardly tell that your voice was shot. It sounds like you could take on the part of Elphaba without much effort.

  • Wow, people are being negative for what reason? This girl is good!

  • Bravo! You have a great deal of talent.

  • You are amazing don't let anyone bring you down (they're probably just jealous) .! And I love your dress. :)

  • HELEN!

Let me tell you... I just saw Wicked on Broadway. You easily have the chops to be Elphaba! AMAZING JOB! Miss you dearly!

    -Kevin Mandig

  • Mumbling.

  • also not to be mean but you really need to work on pronunciation. otherwise pretty good

  • @schuylkillpahaven hmm, could you give me some examples of diction errors? id like to know the spots i need to work on.

  • @HelenBlondelTV Not to be mean or anything, but 1 example would be "What good is this chanting?". You only said "What is this chanting". Not really a pronunciation error but a mistake still. Aside from that, I really, really liked it. Loved your voice

  • @SeiPR727 Thanks and no you're not being mean, I ttly don't know why i skipped the word good lol must've been the nerves... but thanks for your comment!

  • wow not to be mean but i`m way better!

  • @MusicGirl3181 lol nobody said this was a competition. i already won my $3,000 :-)

  • @MusicGirl3181 Post a video of you singing this song, then. I'd love to hear it.

Personally, this is one of the more controlled voices I've heard do an Elphaba song. She's not just screaming, she's actually singing. It's hard to critique songs this hard. People who have the (for lack of better term) balls to do songs this hard ought to be nothing but applauded.

  • this is very good!

may i ask, where did this Arts Alive take place?

Because I am attending Arts Alive in PA this year

  • ummm WOW. that was amazing. how long have u been taking lessons?

  • umm... WOW. i wish i could sing like that. geez. how long have u been taking singing lessons?

  • @kmb1023x thank you! I actually havent had too many lessons.. prolly 2 years worth haha. i just do a lot of my own personal practice.

  • This is fantastic :) Incredibly beautiful voice. So much power behind it too !

  • It's very obvious that it's just a bad day because you can tell that you DO have a good voice. I love what you do at 3:34!

  • asdfghjkl;'

  • @qazwsx697 lol. is that bad?

  • Just wondering if you used a backing track or a live accompaniment? Im doing this song for my HSC (Australias SAT) and really want it to work out as well as you've done it.

  • The tone was good but you punched the notes a little too much, you have a nice vibrato but don't let it get away from you and you were a bit staccato and the song is meant to be sung flowier, I'm not trying to be mean just giving advice

  • @XOOOOElizabethOOOOX interesting advice, elizabeth. I'll make sure to take your points into consideration next time practicing this song.

  • @HelenBlondelTV your welcome it is a difficult song to sing

  • she's better at elphaba than nicole parker....

  • Love this video!!! love the UGH @ 1:15 anywayzzzzz LOVE THIS VIDEO + SONGIE!!

  • Amazing!

  • For just recovering from a fever, you are really good! You had alot of expression! And your voice is really good! Don't listen madad0406, he or she is just jelous. I don't blame he or she. You really are very good!

@madad0406 It's okay to admit your jelous. I am! Oh no, the world's going to end! I am so crazy for just admitting that I'm jelous! Come on, grow up. You know that Helen is good. So just grow up, be nice, or don't do anything at all.

  • you are really good this is me cuttiepie33434354 and i am sooooo with my negative attitude toward your youtube videos you are really good and keep it up want to see you on tv soon being very famous "fan" no name

  • Not talking down, simply expressing an opinion.

Apparently you're not one for democracy, eh? I suppose it isn't within my rights to do as I did?

Name-calling is quite pathetic. You obviously lack the intellect and wit to do something better.

  • that's a hard song, good job!! :D

  • thanks, rukia :-)

  • Oh hunny stick to singing because you can't act and sing at the same time. :P

    But good work.

  • it was a singing showcase. and there's no need to slam, simon.

  • Sorry didn't mean to sound so harsh was pissed when I wrote that. Good role model here.

You are a really good singer... I didn't say that you weren't.

  • Whoever has put that your rubbish or not loud enough etc.. clearly has no knowledge of musical theatre, for someone with a shot voice this is amazing, and i like your version xx

  • @becalou,

    thank you.

    Sincerely, Thank you :-)

  • Your welcome, it's the truth and looking at some of these insane bitchy comments springs one word into my head....JEALOUSY! xx

  • thank you! at least someone understands.

  • I'm glad he did too, you did great for having a shot voice. I am sorry if I made you feel bad, and yahbitchyah777 can just hush. lol jk jk.

  • It was good, she just needs to be louder...and I am not a dick. I am giving constructive critisism.

  • "constructive" criticism contains help or tips.

  • nice job, or try. it was ok.

  • You're a dick. It was amazing.

  • it was flawless, regardless of the "length" of the first fiaro or any other trivial crap.

  • Great voice! This sounds awesome on your voice. If I may add one smidgen of advice... don't perform the song. Act it. Don't get into character, becoem the character. Think through the lyrics and determine exactly why Elphaba says every word in the song. Don't think about hand gestures or whatever. If you really feel the lyrics inside of you, then everything on the outside will come naturally.

But really great job on one heck of a difficult piece!

  • wow :) i bet u could sing this like eden espinosa if u were healthy enough, ammatures hardly ever riff it up, i think you shoudl go for it :D

  • If this is a little sample of what you can do when you are taking medication, babe, I´d like to see what happens when you have vitamins... Wonderful!!!

  • you have an amazing voice.

but more goes into this song that just singing.

you have to grasp and convey what elphaba is feeling.

  • @ actor14 : exactly wat i was thinking xD.

  • you are a great singer! i love Wicked!

  • u rock u r awesome rock on

  • love this!

  • wonderful performance! you gotta get on broadway :D

  • Great performanceee! If your voice was shot and you can sing that well. WOW! lol Just keep doing what you do you will get somewhere that's for sure!

  • Thanks! :-D

  • When i read...My voice was shot i was like Oh god this is gonna be horrible...BUT YOU WERE AWESOME! I'd like to hear this without your vioce being shot!

  • YOU are so AWESOME! I LOVED your cover! ^_^

  • Your dress is sick. Love it, very good.

  • I really like your voice! It's really something!

You have a really good voice for Musical Theatre. You would make such a great Elphaba!!

    Great Job!!

  • Fantastic voice and performance :) 5/5.

  • yerr dress is gorgeous !

i could tell you what you already know and what everyone already informs you of but i'll tell you when i think of a creative , beautiful and worthy way of actually telling you how beautiful your sound. <3

  • Oh my god. You are amazing! This was you on a bad day? I would love to see you when you are 100%. You sound a lot like Saycon Sengbloh and she was my favorite Elphaba. I love the little riff on the last "do". Congrats on an amazing performance! Our ensemble is amazing by the way :D

  • wow! thank you! Saycon is one of my favorites, too! Therefore I am very blessed to be compared to her, lol! Yeah, I was so sick though. I'm happy to know it didnt show too much in the performance!! =)

  • It totally didn't! It sounded amazing and that last note was amazing. Have you tried singing Defying Gravity? I think it would be amazing. I really hope to see you in Wicked in the future ^_^

  • What part in Little Shop are you playing?!?! I also love that musical so I bet you will do amazing.

  • I play one of the DooWop girls, Chiffon. Thanks!!

  • thats what you guys were talking about it was hot as always helen
