Ilyk, the major flaw in your reasoning is that you fail to clarify who counts as Sahabah. If you mean anyone who met and interacted with the Prophet, then you are stating that Abu Lahab and the likes of him are ones that Allah (swt) is pleased with which is definitely not true. If you claim that if it is those who were friends of the Prophet (saw), then at that point that issue would be that we have different traditions and version of history. Historical relativism my friend.
Anyone who saw or met the prophet (s.a.w.) as a Muslim and died as a Muslim is a Sahabi (R.A.), and i mentioned that Allah Ta`ala is happy with the Sahaba (R,A.) so its a bit obvious that Abu Lahab and his likes wouldn`t fall into this category with out me having to mention it.

When you say "later converted" do you mean he saw the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) after his conversion or didn`t see the prophet (S.A.W.) after his conversion. If he saw the Prophet (S.A.W.) after his conversion then yes he is a Sahabi,if he didn`t see the Prophet (S.A.W.) the he will not be given the title of a Sahabi but he will still be a believer.

The point Sheikh Mumtaz is missing is that the differences of opinions within Shia Islam is as large as any other religion or sect. To think of Shia Islam as something uniform is a big mistake.
Muhammad Baqir Majlisi is not a reputable Shia scholar and his writings are considered to be junk by many Shia people.

Ilyk, the major flaw in your reasoning is that you fail to clarify who counts as Sahabah. If you mean anyone who met and interacted with the Prophet, then you are stating that Abu Lahab and the likes of him are ones that Allah (swt) is pleased with which is definitely not true. If you claim that if it is those who were friends of the Prophet (saw), then at that point that issue would be that we have different traditions and version of history. When you say "later converted" do you mean he saw the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) after his conversion or didn`t see the prophet (S.A.W.) after his conversion. If he saw the Prophet (S.A.W.) after his conversion then yes he is a Sahabi,if he didn`t see the Prophet (S.A.W.) the he will not be given the title of a Sahabi but he will still be a believer.

There r crazy wahabis, sunnis and shias -- we must not listen to shaitan and start indentifying ourselves with sect but we must UNITE against the forces of shirk and evil.

Dear brother, I never said there weren't crazy Sunnis and crazy Shias. Most of the sectarian divide has been created by corrupt leaders wishing to exploit religion to their own advantage whether it was the Americans exploiting shia sentiment in the gulf war or whether it is the Saudi King exploiting whabbi sentiment.
We as Muslims must follow Allah and His Prophet (saw) rather than crazy preachers.
