just because the AI will stop your ship if it's about to ram another ship. They just didn't want to code it into the game.

if you got enough RAM you will be able to play smoothly at high at least, probably ultra as well.

that's perfect =). I think you can run it on ultra. If you're unlucky you might need to put some settings on high to get a high frame-rate, but I'm not sure.

keep in mind . high and ultra settings on such heavy games require multi core processors and rams. and offcourse a very good graphics card. if anyone want to enjoy the best of such games. i recommend they shud choose x58 motherboard . 24 gb ram. intel i7 core extreme processor. quad core 2 graphics cards(e.g nvidia gtx 250 ) or hd ati radeon. at least 1080p monitor. led backlight. tellin u bro u will play the way its meant to be played.cheers.

the more RAM you have, the faster the game loads. but you also need a good graphic card and processor to accomplice that.

nVidea Geforce 9800GT (wich is very good) costs around 130 pounds (if you search for a cheap one you might find one for 110).

If you don't want to spend so much money you can buy a nVidea Geforce 9600GT which is 80 pounds. still a good video card,

No, I'm 99% sure its my Video Card. While it does have enough MB to run it, it's just not compatible with the game. Also can't run Fallout 3 for the same reason.

Thanks, I had a problem with the second ship. The first time I instantly sank it and couldn't board it and carry on with the tutorial. I had to restart. This time I used chain shot. I also instantly sunk the guy. The third time I just right-clicked and waited. So I demasted the guys and tried to board them. They all jumped into the sea before I reached them. And I was never able to finish this tutorial, lol.

If you want to boost framerates turn water detail and grass down. The difference between high and ultra settings is practically indistinguishable.

It will work just fine for your PC build. But i would suggest if you regularly update the drivers in your build, especially drivers for your graphics card and an update for the DX10 if there is any.

This is just the thing I am after. I love old naval ship combat and am always on lookout for a game that can suitably set the scene accurately. This part of the game is stunning with great detail and only a slight issue with sea overlapping the hull graphics but hey. I will prob focus on this part of the game and speed through the land warfare. NB: You can deploy ships to trade routes to protect interest and will also have to contend with pirates. I can't wait.
