Yes I would would use brown paper on the back using maybe some two side artist mounting tape , but make sure it's easy to remove . You don't want to use anything to sticky . Good art work ...
I agree, you are very talented and this's what U'm looking to see on these videos. The only thing is I wish you would've show the second piece of art. I could'nt see it that well cause you turned it so fast and what did you use to paste your textures down? I'll check you out again for more art and techniques. Thanks and it looks like it's tome to start selling....good luck.
@jransm Thank you so much. I usually use jewelry glue its used to glue metal, fabric, wood, ect. its simular to a super glue but with a thicker consistance. When im trying to adhere lighter textures such as paper, cardboard, steril pad, ect. i just use a multi purpose glue (elmers) or Mod podge or Titebond original wood glue. Im happy and thankful to have had success with generating sells with my artworks. I pray it continues. Thanks again so much for stopping by and showing support.
WOW my God your paintings are amazing! You are truly gifted,,,i thought it looked good before you painted it but after you painted it it looked even better!!!!!!! Where did you get your art talent from?
@ryansartwork Thank you so much for your supportive comment. I truly appreciate it . I am deeply motivated and thankful. My talent is God given and to him i will be forever greatful. Thanks again.
You're very gifted, I love the colours you have chosen too. Amazing, I love it! So colourful on a wall. I don't think you need the wire as those canvasess can still hang on any nail so I'd not worry about that. And stop saying 'I don't know', cos you do know, never mind what other's do or think, we are all artists within & all unique. Keep up the excellent work!!
@TruthSeekingElf Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. I truly appreciate that. I am so motivated by all of you guys supportive comments. Thanks again ! YES I DO KNOW! "smile" i needed to hear that!
@rizzin2thetop You're very welcome! And good for you! Yes! You DO know! :o) I've just started painting a couple of months ago and started on this forum where the owner is a great artist and you can upload your artowrk and he'll critique it for you so you can think about that if you want to share with other artists aside from YouTube. It's called paint basket dot com. Good luck and keep doing well!
I think you are a great Artist. I think you should actually film yourself painting the canvas. I love the colors you chose and the textures as well. Amazing!!! Keep up the good work!
@FireSoul22 Thanks so much for commenting. I truly appreciate it. I try to film myself actually painting however i get distractred eaisly when i do that. Maybe i'll keep trying. Thanks again
BEAUTIFUL, and great use of colors and textures. I am only a former art student, trying to figure out now how to paint like a painter who YOU would look at andprobably figure out how she did it instantly!
Do you know of any local galleries in your area? Or anyone who teaches art privately? They might be able to help you choose how to finish the back. Personally I like it open as it is, because it then adds to the fact it's truly an original!
@LisaAnnelia Thanks so much im glad you like my artwork. I am with a local art gallery and i have questioned them. They think its fine the way that it is too. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting If you have any questions feel free to ask. Take care and do stop by anytime. God bless
@christiane7092 Thanks so much. Im so happy you like my art. My inspiration comes from, other artist, and the creativity with, but most of all my artwork evolves from Gods guidance! Thanks again for stopping and commenting.
Beautiful painting! I was under the impression that with that type of canvas you could simply nail 1 or 2 short nails on the wall and the wooden frame would sit on that. I don't think any further finishing is needed on the back.
It wasn't the best audio quality but i think you were asking for advice on the wire hanging it looked fine but it should be pulled more tightly. if you have that bow in the wire than its going to hang off the wall in an odd way. VERY COOL TEXTURE IDEAS
@TheAsheliz Thanks so much for commenting. I agree with you about the audio, thank God i have a mic now. I'm glad you liked the texture ideas. Thanks again.
Canvas Like that you can leave the back open, Now if it's framed then you need to use the brown paper first. The paper helps to keep dust from getting inside the painting.
@Aquacho11 Thanks you so much im so happy you enjoy my artwork. I share all my techniques in most my videos, but if theres anyting that i can help you with feel free to contact me and i'll gladly assist you in any way i can. Take care and stop by anytime. God bless.
To wire the painting, set the eyelets 1/3 the way down from the top edge. The wire length should have a slight arc but not too loose. It should be loose enough to grab the nail but tight enough to pull the painting tight against the wall. Don't worry about using brown paper. Paintings should be open in back to allow air circulation. Go to a local frame shop or gallery and check out how they treat the backside of paintings. Brown paper can be used if a frame is involved.
Hi, I love ur work and love your choices of color. What kind of glue material do you use to glue aluminum foil / sandpaper / eggshells / toilet paper on to the canvas?
Hi there im so happy you like my artwork. i use elmer's glue and i also use Mod Podge glue as well. for the egg shells i use spakle. i put the spakle where i want to put the egg shells and then i press the egg shells into it so it'll dry in place. for all other materials i just use glue. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
im not 100% sure but i dont think you need the paper on the back....but you should shorten the wire so that it sits flat on the wall without the nail or hook pressing up against the frame.
Thanks again, and i really appreciate the tips you gave me. I'll put them to good use. If you have any more suggestions feel free. Im open to learning as much as i can.
You've really got an eye for color harmony. The yellow, purple and red mesh at the bottom of the work flow very well together. What material was used at the top portion of the canvas? Was it aluminum foil?
Nice work, the texture in the first painting is great and I really love the colours in the second painting. I agree with fromruinstudio about the paper and the hanging. To me getting it to lie flat on the wall is most important, I hate when artwork pulls away from the wall a little.
Hay Anglia!! Your work is beautiful. I don't think you need to paper the back at all. You would see that on a framed canvas sometimes.I like the way you put the eye hooks on the inside of the stretcher , that will help the painting to lay flat against the wall. Maby you should shorten the wire so the nail or picture hanger will not stop it from laying flat. As always your work is stunning:)
When I buy artwork, the back is not covered, its wired just like that. But the framers paper the back. On Gary's site a framer said not to paper the back because the canvas needs to breath, so I am confused on the issue too. I love, love the first painting!
I think the paper is entirely optional. I never paper the back but I do sometimes wire them. Although my mom suggested covering the back because I paint out my sides and therefore the back gets a bit messy.
