You probably mean the highest frets near the neck-pickup? Well, you really can't fret them with your left hand but they are meant for tapping. And they really work well for that purpose.
And yes, it's a baritone version. I'm very happy with it.

I love the baritone tunning and the longer scale lenght that comes with it (28 7/8" 30" are my all time favorites).I have been looking for a nice baritone 8 stringer equipped with lundgrens and the kahler trem for ages,and I still can't believe that i finally found it. I'm definitely getting one.

Yeah, there are cool led inlays both on the fretboard and on the side of the neck.
