@ryswe I'm a Rally addict , so over years I met him at different rallies. He's good with fans, always will answer a question and talk to You..... Very patient with people..... On top of it all I like his driving style. Every rally he will give his best , because pushing very hard often he crashes.... but that's the kind of attitude to the sport that I like.... @SmashedTV4U yeah Block is always great. i marshall the 100 acre wood rally in missouri every year so i get into the drivers party at the end of the rally and he's always willing to talk with you and have a beer with you. ive never seen Pastrana at the drivers party but i got to talk to him at the shake down this year and he couldnt have been nicer. rally drivers are the best drivers.

I think it's great that Ken is coming over to rally in the WRC. Hopefully the american audiences will grow keen on a sport we've been in love with in Europe for decades. There where world championship races before in the States (the last Group B race was held there), but for some reason it never picked up much interest. If the media get some decent coverage and the stages are held near the big cities, maybe we will get the WRC to go there in the near future, and that could only benefit everyone.
Everyone knows that citroen is best team now, but I think that Hirvonens style is more spectacular. He carries more speed to corner and goes more sideways, but its not always the fastest way. Still Loeb won his last title by dirty game and team orders. Drivers titles should be won only by driving and Ford didnt use team orders, if they did, Hirvonen would have won last years title.

Season just started. Loeb and Hirvonen now have both 1 win, Its hard to say what will happen. Everyone knows that c4 is faster car and theese two drivers have very different driving style. Hirvonens best drive so far is 2009 Rally Finland, check footage and compare yourself...

I think you have only take a look to results, but dont really remember the rally. Sorry,to write he was slow makes me smile. Kannkunen, Alen drove fully factory cars, new specifications, both fighting for the WRC title.. Buffum drove 2 years old specification Michael Mouton´s car, even not supported by Audi.
2/ He was suprising all the experts due the race. He beat talented L.E.Thorpe, ex-champion Waldegaard. 20 min lost, 3rd in the finish was max. he could do with the car, in the condition he had..

I know that, but Im from finland so I think you can understand me kinda. Colin was fast driver and still one of all time greats, but he never was ultra quick driver. I have seen live almost every best driver on stages of rally finland and some of them are clearly flying higher than rest.

did Loeb move to a "b" team driving a partial schedule this year?! if not then why compare the 2? lets face it, Loeb had TWO people competing against him last year! only TWO and he still won by what 1 point? that is FAR from domination of any sort.

Hirvonen is #1 gun! He is hardcore and aggressive but also calm and dedicated. He will make cornflakes out of Block :)

I dont think he could even reach top5 positions, especially in first year. He will not have fully factory car, he will drive similar car as Henning Solberg and Mathew Wilson.. With the client specification car even very experienced drivers cannot win any race, even reach the top 3..And everything will be new for him -car, stages.. so top10 and he will be very lucky...

@borsyzoli Hmmm. 6th place on stages at Turkey. Yeah he's may have a bit of learning to do but for his first year, SECOND RACE in WRC? That's pretty damn impressive. He's beating Wilson on stages and he's the 3rd most experienced driver in the series. Can you name another driver with as impressive stage times for their first 2 races?

@borsyzoli Nope. yes he can Rally well. However, Gymkhana is about style, precision and speed. Not just getting from Point A to Point B. That's like saying Halo 3 is better than World of Warcraft. You can't compare two different things in the relative category.

I wasnt comparing gymkhana and rally...but everybody thinks that hes a great rallydriver just because he made a few nice movies? Hes not a bad driver in the US, but his money and gymkhana movies made him famous not his results in rally..
No factory would hire him in europe and we both know im right....

Season just started. Loeb and Hirvonen now have both 1 win, Its hard to say what will happen. Everyone knows that c4 is faster car and theese two drivers have very different driving style. Hirvonens best drive so far is 2009 Rally Finland, check footage and compare yourself...

@DiliBouille Loeb never won Grönholm on super fast stages of Finland. Not even close. When Loeb came first time to rally finland, he said that he was amazed by seeing cars fly, not jump... I dont like Loeb's style, he is boring and way he talks english sounds gay...

awsome video.. but ken block is really overrated.. its like a kid with an unlimited bank account. hes a decent rally guy because of experience and how long hes been tryin to break cars, but has no real skill. i cant wait to watch him in action just becasue there arent many americans in the world monster rally series WRC, and alot of big manufactures have been pulling out of it. i like ken block because of wheres hes from, and is entertaining to watch!

Good luck Ken! I think he need a lot in the WRC! But Im really pleased with his join to the WRC , because he choose the rally against the boring american oval track or drag racing. New teams are good for the WRC anyway

I hope Ken going to the WRC will improve the popularity of proper Rally racing as a motor sport here in N.A.

Oh, and Block is the first American in the wrc. That's pretty cool though. Next maybe we can get some rallies here in the states? That would be great. I mean it is called the World Rally Championship. Where can we go vote on this to happen? We need to get over this whole Nascar business. I respect it, but just think it's lame and boring watching guys go in circles. Sorry. Bring F1 back here also!

I think you have only take a look to results, but dont really remember the rally. Sorry,to write he was slow makes me smile. Kannkunen, Alen drove fully factory cars, new specifications, both fighting for the WRC title.. Buffum drove 2 years old specification Michael Mouton´s car, even not supported by Audi.

2/ He was suprising all the experts due the race. He beat talented L.E.Thorpe, ex-champion Waldegaard. 20 min lost, 3rd in the finish was max. he could do with the car, in the condition he had..

rallyramone: Ok, if you keep great 3rd position with old car minutes behind the best and minutes in front of the rest what would you do? Take a risk, go flat out or just driving on safe? Buffum did tacticly the best he could and finished 3rd..

I know that, but Im from finland so I think you can understand me kinda. Colin was fast driver and still one of all time greats, but he never was ultra quick driver. I have seen live almost every best driver on stages of rally finland and some of them are clearly flying higher than rest.

Lol. Dude I know! I'm heartbroken:( To go from my favorite car to my least favorite car! It's horrible. And to top things off the guy I sold it to lives 2 blocks away so I'm sure I will be seeing him drive my baby around all the time. It's like seeing your ex girlfriend with another guy. It's just wrong. Oh well, I will get another one or something better someday.

Thing is since Mitsubishi, Subaru , Suzuki, has stepped out of WRC because of fabrication cost and recession its highly unlikely they gonna come back just for block, Even solberg, Atkinson have got to drive citroen now.. time for change plus the subaru has stopped being as competitive as citroen and ford , its pointless to redevelope it its best to go with wat already worked good. In WRC its about constant performance so he got to watch it.. He will do good but Loeb is a hard nut to crack.

Cant agree more after a while it gets a little boring to see two manufacturers fighting for the title.. Hope in the future it gets as open as the debute of Rally .. with OPEL, Porsche, Metro, Audi, Peugeot, Alfa, Fiat, mini, bmw, ferrari, renault.., proton, mitsubishi, subaru.... it would have be amazing to watch.. but the rule on WRC or very demanding.. and its costy investment .. that why some big name rather do F1 , le Mans series or GT and so on..

I'm also interested in seeing how the new fiesta wrc cars will do. I have a feeling they will be competitive. It's a shame all the old manufactures are out these days. Kinda boring only seeing fords and citroens. Bring back Mitsubishi , Subaru , Peugeot , and hell Audi should get back in the mix! Speaking of mitsubishi's, I just had to sell my evo 8 last week:( Money issues. Now I'm driving my grandpas dodge neon! Shoot me now!

Hey jamessprey. I totally agree. I meant it to mean that I don't think he will stand a chance up guys like Seb( The King ) Loeb, Mikko, or even Solberg for that matter. Maybe he will prove us wrong? Does anyone remember (if any) who the last American driver in the wrc?that's kinds cool though. The difference between rally America and wrc is like triple a baseball and the MLB . If people don't watch wrc and just the xgames, they have No idea!

Ken Block is only good for doing doughnuts and selling energy drinks. It's a completely different ball game racing against top drivers on the hardest rallies in the world not on empty airfields.And how has he managed to highjack Collin Mcrea"s latest game??
