You obviously have NEVER been there, or anywhere near there!!! Are you just "Bleepin" City folk?, or just clueless! You clearly have no idea about what this is about...do you enjoy the outdoors or know anything about the outdoors/nature? All I can say is you must be ignorant!
@diddymuck I never replied cause I'm BUSY and I don't know you personally (and honestly...3 years later, have now seen your response...). Do you live anywhere close to the area that is being discussed? If so, don't think you would have any of your responses or comments regarding the area.
OK that's different. A river basin is vital and damming a river requires unilateral agreement from all areas along the river's basin. If waterflow or varying dimensions of the landscape by reduction of waterflow is the case, all areas connected could bring the case to govt attention.
There is nobody to speak up for the basin...it's uninhabited except for a few private cabins. This is one of California's last frontiers, and is one of the wildest, most gorgeous rivers in the U.S.
Sadly, it is in some humans' natures to want to divert, develop, and pave everything.
There goes an old Indian saying: When all the trees have been toppled, when all the rivers are poisoned, and all the mountains destroyed, what then will your money be worth?
boring. what does serene lakes need saving from??? don't look too serene to me...skeleton trees and junk pine. Big deal.

They are going to bulldoze 100-5000 year old trees, destroy the North Fork American River Basin, and they will be damming up the river.
