You should use a Wired Xbox 360 Controller for when you spawn it is much quicker and sometimes better when you are trying to kill an AI with just using keys and mouse clickes (No Offense to others that love to do that) But im just recomending that alot of you should use it.

go to vegetation, highlight the groups you've painted (or individual trees, god forbid), there's an option called "enableshadow" or something of the like, check the box to the right of it, and voila, shadows

Hehe.. dense = lag! That's why there weren't any dense jungles in Crysis :P

Crytek put so much detail into everything, that simply the amount of objects needed to make a dense jungle would be have catastrophal framerates.

Hi. I downloaded the sandbox and it's really fun but I'm still a beginner, how do I make it so that there is an icon on top of the objects (I.e. people icons on top of the ai). I'm talking about the blue things on top of the people, and the images of a camera when you spawn a camera. When I do it, I have just a person with no icon.

What I think you should add/fix:

1. More vegetation + rocks(and remove the grass from the road).

2. Darken the ocean.

3. Textures

4. Wider roads

5. Longer viewdistance to the grass.

By the way, when i add ai to my own special maps all they do is stand there. I do this:

New Asian>Camper ect> I place them> I change there job from stand idle to anything else. But all they do is stand there. :( Have any idea how to fix that?

In the final version you need to add a lot of bushes, they change the map incredibly.

In Far Cry for Xbox I loved to make maps (although I didnt had Xbox Live so it was just me running around) and I used to make the vegetation only with trees, but one day I decided to try the bushes and they fill the ground very well.
