I worry about this guy's knowledge of car dynamics... I trust Autocar more than Fifth Gear for many (hopefully obvious) reasons. Autocar, in detail, explains that the primary ride is significantly more compliant, losing much of the tendency to fidget and pitch along an uneven country road (with the Sport model). As for handling, Autocar explains that a neutral cornering balance is elusive and that understeer is prominent. Perhaps pay attention to your job instead of fiddling with your iphone?

fyi the drive performance control does not change the suspension at all, just the throttle and steering map. Unless you have ordered the adaptive suspension at an extra cost.

I really do find this car ugly with a complete lack of style. Whilst I admit styling is each to their own when it comes to personal taste, I think anyone who thinks this looks stylish no doubt thinks bland Japanese cars (example Toyota) do also. For a premier car manufacturer it really is very poor and this seems to becoming a regular problem at BMW. Shame really, wasted opportunity.

@Flam3ster I've seen it on the Regensburg plant and it's a very good looking car. It's an unconventional design for sure, but you have to be glad that (just like the old one) it doesn't look anything like those ugly hatches from Ford, GM, Peugeot etc. which all look the same.

By the way, the new Audi A3 will have a quite similar appearance, with arrow-shaped headlights as well, but of course in Audi design language. You can tell the german market researchers and designers are doing their jobs.
