Those GOP voters laugh when I say this, but Texas will be competetive 4-8 years from now, and then will likely turn blue after that. It will happen for the same reasons it happened in California (once a die-hard Red state).
People of color are increasing in numbers, and as more register to vote and then vote, it'll slowly happen. In 2004 Bush beat Kerry by 21%, this time McCain beat Obama by 12%. Hopefully in 2012, Barack will declare TX a battleground state and go for it.
When he says Blue, does he mean Democrat or Progressive? They are two different things and the Dems aint done shit for nobody lately.
