I get to work with Lahlou for the KY Breeders Cup party next week, looking forward to getting to learn from him...seems like a very humble and down to earth guy
Why is everyone hating Lahlou? I haven't watched all the episodes, but he seems like a cool dude in the couple I've watched.
Plus when they edit shows like this, the creators usually have a pretty good idea of what kind of clips they want to show for each person.
In reality TV shows, they decide who the winner is ahead of time and what they want the public to think of each, this might be a little bit different beause they are creating dishes not battling their character.
Something fishy when Lahlou's roulade is undercooked on the plating, but then overcooked when serving the judges. So he gets to put up raw fish for plating, and then cook it right the next time?
@aznwillrise - Mourad Lahlou is a kind, generous, very humble and extremely hard working person--and owner of the best Moroccan restaurant in San Francisco. I've met him and had the opportunity to eat at his restaurant and the food is amazing. But you're only judging a person by a 40 minute clip using footage that food network decided to use for this competition, so I don't blame you. However, based on 6 words on a youtube thread, I think you seem like a douche bag. Cheers!
@pashun8angel Ugh, San Francisco is so far away. :( A few hours at the least. I've never had Moroccan food before and I'm kinda intrigued at the idea of trying some for the first time after seeing all the different spice blends and dishes put forth by Lahlou.
@aznwillrise I met him actually.. he let me see his kitchen during dinner service because I am interested in a culinary career but I am stuck in college atm. He was really nice. Definitely not a douche bag =]
@aznwillrise -- He's serious about what he does; he's intense. It's part of what makes him so amazing. It's rare that you find a great chef who is a "nice guy" in the kitchen.
i find this is a good group of judges because they know their food and not some random actor

thanks for posting these videos! If you could do any of the "Chopped" or "Chef vs. City," episodes, our family would really appreciate it!

what i wanna know is how do they have a plate for each judge, when they only prepare one plate per dish? anyone know?
dancarroll858 1 year ago
@dancarroll858 the chefs only prepare one plate per dish in that one hour time frame (on camera, and for which they cannot fail).
then afterward, they make additional plates (this is not filmed) so that each person sitting on the judging table has a plate per dish.
but the show guys edit the video so the battle and the judging segments are smoothly integrated in one piece.
