  • Haha I remember being a net hog too. Never did trust my partner :D

  • what i didn;t like about the game was your stats kept decreasing -.-'

  • just wondering, what kind of stats did you give your character?

  • Thanks for uploading video of this classic game!

  • @stejhour I'm glad you enjoyed it !

  • Man I remember this when I was 11. Game was legendary and I got it again recently - still not bored of it :D

  • @MGOxRogue You simply can't get bored of it !

  • I just realized watching this that in this game, everyone is constantly swaying back and forth like little trees in the wind.

  • this game is addicting i found it like last year and never played it till a week ago :O its so fun :D

  • @azalm09 I stopped playing the game for quite a long time, but I still had great memories of it ; one day, I found it in one of my desk's drawers and started a game again... And as you say, it's still just amazingly addicting ! Much better than the GBA version of the game ! And I even started another game on an emulator because I didn't have my Game Boy with me and couldn't wait to play :-D

  • i remember always playing this game whenever we had indoor recess at elementary school!

  • @Niedenss2 I don't know your opinion, but to me, the game was -and still is- legendary. I got many, many memories of that game and I couldn't wait to play it at a friend's, since he was the one to own the game (it was pretty hard to get it in France at the time) !

  • i wore my fingers to the bone playing this game when i was younger, pure awesomesauce

  • oooh. back then there were no power shots, pure tennis.

  • @giorajrhev You bet ! Good times :-)

  • Haha you play the same way I do

  • Yay! Just beat singles without ever leveling up myself up (I gave all my exp to my doubles partner). Though it does help that if you save the game in the middle of a match it will reset the game (as in games, sets, match) to 0-0. Useful when the

opponent is at 40 and you're about to lose a game. You can pretty much force a win this way. But it's very tedious and if you turn off the game you might lose data.

  • @mrsticky005 I know this technique, I used to do this when I was younger and didn't want to lose a game, but now I don't care losing games ; and if I lose a set, I just restart the match ^^

  • @BryanTragle

I get the feeling it's not something you can do in a real tennis match.

  • @mrsticky005 That's true, but same for being able to save the game and many other features available in such a game ^^

  • @BryanTragle You got game, BryanTragle! :)

  • @mrsticky005 I'm not really sure you can do the same drop shots as Spike does in an actual game either :-)

  • @BryanTragle

    good point

  • Love this game with a passion

  • what emulator is this?

  • @timberswiss3

This is a Game Boy emulator for the Mac called KiGB and developed by Richard Bannister, who created many very, very nice emulators (Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Super NES, NES, Sega Genesis/MegaDrive, and so on). If you've got a Mac and if you're looking for emulators, you really should google him !

  • lol im actually playing this game atm. i ahve a lv42 player named zezima. im at the tournment atm nd this girl is good who im playing.

  • I miss this game :( I still technically have it but I sold my GBA and obviously the DS can't play GBC games...

  • @WwhiptailwW Hey--why not get an emulator then? :D

You can play this game right on your computer

  • @DoobyMastah

You're right, as long as you've got the original game you have the right to use an emulator and run the ROM file, it's totally legal.

The gaming experience isn't quite the same though, but after some training I don't think it is such uncomfortable to play on a keyboard, as long as you map your keys well ;-)

  • this game was too addicting and FUN! :D I leveled up my characters all the way up to level 99 :)

  • @turbotoby95

Addicting, fun : I agree on both terms ;-)

Personally, my little brother erased my save game whereas I was level 90 or so... I've never been brave enough (and I didn't have enough time) to start it all over again. I haven't reached that level again...

  • I have this game on my old gameboy lol my lil bro plays it still :)

  • @hejsanpadej

And why don't you play it still too ? oO

    (just kidding ^^)

  • im playing against mario and peach in doubles now, but its IMPOSSIBLE!

    my partner suks so much!

the island open wasnt that tough, but, man, the double match against mario trashed me 6-0 6-0 6-0. AGAIN every time i do it

i beat him in singles, but i cant in doubles, because my partner is too bad. abd i cant train him even with iron accesories cuz ive beat everything and the minigames dont give much exp

ps: my partner is lvl 23

  • @erizo908

Well, since your partner is lvl 23, it's gonna be VERY tough. Since I used to share equally the XP between both characters, I didn't get much annoyed. But what you did is very risky. If you can't win enough points while playing the net, I think you should level up a little bit in Exhibition mode and give all the XP to your partner. Anyway, good luck man, you'll need some ;-)

  • over leveled much??? Jk lol I loooooooooooved this game so much back in the day.

  • i also played the same way but i have never won so easily my best score is 6-2,6-2,6-0

  • Hey, I'm replaying this game because I discovered that I never beat it as a kid! ^_^

Is it worthwhile to train a character in spin? Or should I just stick to the other 3 stats?

  • It's only useful to have good topspin and slice if you want effective serves, lobs or drop shots.

  • Wow....actually looks more fun than the gba version. I'm finding that more and more with gbc games

  • @Cowboy77

You're right, this GB version is much funnier than the GBA one. When I tried the Advance version, I got very disappointed and came back to the Game Boy Color :-)

  • I still have this game. I started a new profile just to face the Factory's Costello Brothers. ^_^ Good times in the video, man!

  • Comment removed

  • Isn't that game awesome??? I've played it every year of my life since I was like 5, and yes, it even inspired me to play high school tennis. No matter how much I play it, I can never beat Mario and the Princess on doubles though...

  • o man that is a pain in the ass isn't it?

  • singles is much better

  • I totally agree with you, but I had finished the Singles Island Open so I recorded the doubles final :)

  • lol im better at the N64 version of this game.i downloaded the rom for this game

  • Hope you have the original game if you don't want to get annoyed by the law !

Well, I'm no cop so I won't make you feel guilty or anything, I'm just warning you.

  • Im definitely buying this game again. But seriously man, you need to play your position, even though you dominated. Still my favourite game ever, its what actually got me playing tennis and Ive been for 8 years now, because of this game!!!

  • Yep, I know I should play my position, but I prefer singles play, and I don't really trust my partner so I prefer trust myself, but because of that I lost some points... Anyway, I'm more a singles player ;)

  • You may be good at the game, but you're not a team player...that, and when you're at the net, giving some space between the player and the net will allow you to get smash aces and volleys much more often, resulting in quicker scoring.

  • That's very likely. As I may have said in other comments, I'm no team player when my partner is an AI that I can't really trust. Sometimes, his choices are dangerous so I'm careful. Probably too careful though.

And thanks for the advice for the net play, I'm going to try this when I have the time !

  • I love the BGM for all the tournament stages I wanna download them to my ipod

  • how do u record an emulator game

  • In fact you need to record everything that happens on your computer (since I'm on a mac, I'm using Screenflow, but many other applications can record your video output), then you trim the video in order to only keep the windows that interests you. If you need help, you can send me a message, I'll try to do my best to help you ;)

  • Well i have a vista

  • Then I'm sorry, I can't help you yet since I haven't looked for such software for Windows... I'm gonna have a look at this when I have the time.

  • I heard iShowU was better

  • Well, that's possible. Anyway, I got this one and I'm pretty satisfied of it so I don't feel the need of using other software.

  • You aren't bad. I can't even make it past the first match in the Island Open, doubles and singles.

  • are you serious? this game is far too easy lol, just go to the net and pick up your prize

  • lol. I beat it now. I beat it quite a long time ago. This was just when I was stupid and trained everything equally.

  • Against A. Coz in singles mode, it doesn't always work though. His lobs are far too tricky and need no preparation.

  • you can anticipate on those by standing slightly more back. if he can easily reach a ball, you might get a lob. i usually won 8/10 points against him.

  • u shouldda worked on ur partner's speed

  • I know, he's very slow, but I wanted to try the combination of a tricky, powerful player with a fast and technique player :)

  • I honestly can't say you play bad. You should see how bad I am... >_>

  • No I am bad
