I love the video. I have this engine and am going to order the tsunami. I sure wish you could go thru your files and post what speaker you put in it. Did you use a round one that fit into the molded spot or did you put one in the top of the tender and drill holes to let the sound out.
I installed the lights in the Wabash passenger cars. They are Kato cars & kato light boards. If you look close you will see a Mars light on the lead Wabash loco pulling the Wabash passenger cars.
No built in speaker. THere is a molded place in the tender for a speaker to fit including grill in bottom of tender to let sound out. Look at bottom of tender when you get loco. Check instruction sheet for the speaker size. I forget.
If you have a hobby shop in your area they should be able to help. I live in Tampa, FL not sure where you are.
I am getting on of these for Christmas and I am wondering does it come with the speaker built in. The papers say something about the speaker but I'm new at modeling and have NO idea of what I'm doing.
I forget the size speaker. The tender has a molded area for the speaker. Look at the exploded diagram of the engine & tender & see what size will fit. The bottom of the tender has speaker grill openings so sound is directed downward to the tracks.
It's the heavy steam decoder. You can adjust equalizer after installing decoder to change sounds a little. Download the manual from their site. It must be 100 pages. Will give you lots of details.
WOW!!!!!! very nice sound and how many cars can this engine pull and what about grade I always wante dto get one but have a 2.5 -3.0 grade and i like running long trains

What I would suggest, call Bachmann (manufacturer of the Class J) and ask them the size speaker that will fit into the area in the tender.
I'm sorry to say I do not have anyway of telling the speaker size. I originally purchased several different sized speakers & used the one that fit.
Let me know what Bachmann says.
THanks for your interest.
You may also be able to determine size by Bachmann's exploded description.
