@emberfur19 Back when pokemon started the only pokemon that showed distinctive genders were nidoran male and female branches, that is also why they have their own pokedex numbers, but yes pikachu is a boy for what we know

you can tell a pikachi isboy because, boy has a lighting shapped tail while a female is heart shaped at at the end of the tail ^^ well half of a heart anyhow

That didn't really come out until the later games, where as Pikachu could have been a girl in the beginning and never got the tail changed.

(I'm just being subjective.)
