  • the neighbors might complain about that radio of yours

  • NASTY!

  • See this ===> youtube.com/watch?v=YHfoON7ukSc

  • Nice sound man! Did you have to do a lot of re-wiring? I dont know much about it. Can I basically remove where it gets the signal and insert a jack?

  • @spinav you could do that... but what he did here was just remove the radio circuitry and switched it for a fender champ circuit.

  • mate, that sounds fantastic. is the 5f1 same/similar to a champ?

  • I love your amp. How long does it take to build???

  • @nels7118

    i found the old radio, and tore out the guts one night, the soldering of the new components took me about half a day, this was my first build to so i went slow, then half a day of tweaking and biasing. then a few hours to make the controlnob fit snuggly and adding the handle and the external speaker outputs and whatnot i have on the back. So not too long :)

  • Just a while ago my grandfather told me he can arrange a old radio for me. It would be fun to turn it into amp (I was considering this for 2 years but no old radio was at hand :D).

    This is funny, how much people spend for professional amps while they can have good tone by using a bit of imagination.

    Here's good exapmple. Very good tone. I would never think it's possible to sound so blue with old radio overdrive (tubes?).

  • @Max0Inq Yes its really pitty how much a amp in a store costs...

  • i wanted to do the same with our old radio but it´s full of dirt and it doesnt have a input which i could use as a guitar input
