His accoustic version of "Colour" is sheer magic. Took an already powerful, beautiful song to a whole new level of amazing. His accoustic album with his Greatest Hits is amazing and this may be my favorite song on it. I love the Human Being album, though. I think I was the only person I knew who had it, so it's nice to see fellow fans sharing the love of it!
I love what Seal did with transcending his thoughts...into my thoughts! Amazing artist, amazing talent....and amazing everything. His music is what REAL music is all about.....
Sensual and seductive. Enchanting and entrancing. Using colour as a metaphor for life and love this song is brilliant. Only people who really feel Seals music need apply.
I laid on my pillow and closed my eyes, and as I listened to this song, it was as if I saw colors swirling and dancing around me in a rhythmic motion, entrancing and cradling me with it's comfort of colors.
I love this song for it's message. Seal said it was inspired by an exotic dancer in Brazil. The song ponders what would life be like if you woke up and there was no color? Would we get rid of racism? Seal concludes that we'd just find something else to discriminate against people. Human Being is his best album and I was sad it was slept on and not promoted by the record company.
Colour is a mutha. Right out of the 60s rhythm and blues with the knowledge of everything that preceded it. Absolutely brilliant piece. This is indeed his best album and just an outstanding compilation throughout begining with Human Beings - just really great.
I discovered this song after leaving on one of those those god-awful shows about insipid couples pondering the repercussions of moving house. One bad decision I turned out to be grateful for.
@Auntkekebaby And I think it's Seal's best. For shame, that just because it didn't sell as much as the others, and because people wanted more power ballads, it was the only of his first few albums that didn't receive a special edition re-release. Millions are missing out on the exquisite artistry in every subdued note. It's a highly rewarding album. Every song is so rich. It's one of those rare, perfect albums, and it's not dated in the least.
@Sceptorful It didn't have some big, happy, shiny hit, and also I think a lot of so-called Seal fans didn't take to the album because it was a more cerebral album. It does make it feel more like a treasure because so many people don't know what they're missing. I'm happier that Seal himself is happier in life, but his sadness and pain made for better music. :) I do think it was a slap in the face that of all his earlier albums, only this one didn't get a re-release. It deserves one.
@TsugaruClan Haha oops, i replied to the wrong person! I meant to say that to BrooklynNYC777. Sorry TsugaruClan. :( But i agree with what you said. 'Human Beings' i think is my favorite album from him, next to his first.
@BrooklynNYC777 Of course it's underrated. So little people know and listen to this album and critics (not all) disregarded it because it was a dark album. And no radio friendly songs either. What a shame. But at least it makes it all the more better to listen to.
One of the best songs on "Human Being"!!!
