It's an inherent fault. it happends to mine if i leave it switched on for more than around an hour then it starts doing it. Have a look on the Denon DJ forums. Almost every other post is about this issue.
hey i been hearing ppl having problem with the pitch speeding up, n everyone sending them back to denon n etc, but what denon dont tell yall is its something thats very simply to fix ya self, n wouldnt literally take 3 mins, i know how to fix, but let me just say dis, dont waste ya money sending back, its a you can do it your self fix, seriously!!
the top platter is supposed to be independant from the actual spinning of the bottom. if you notice, the top platter spins with the movement of the bottom part, get that fixed.
I had same prob with 1 of my 2 units.... never could get fixed so I sold them. It is a fact that denon lost the war on CD Players. Now they have to release the best midi packages to gain reputation again.
this is why i leave em just how they are ive had mine a few years now they are great just as they was outa the box....pioneer are very good alot of people think they are better ....in my view id stick with denon....i dont like the plastic feel from pioneer...3700 are a great deck....and so are these 3500...
@GuaranteedBreakage did you see the video, it goes up and then it goes back, when i turn it down... have you ever dj the last thing you want is to mess around with it
what pisses me off is pio stories!!!! lets face it first cdj1000 mark1 was not so good like denon's dns3500 .. then came better version cdj1000mark2 end this was much better BUT not perfect !! denon have the same with dnhs5500... end last serie cdj'smark3-900-2000 are realy good;;;BUT denon's dns3700 is great too...so lets be honest end see that everithing is the same on the end.. for you is pioneer end for me denon..so lets rock the house with good wibes end stop shittin.. !!! peace end music!
Did anyone come to think it might be the 0099 firmware? I as in myself havnt heard anyone with firmware 0098 have dis problem is there a way to downgrade....n this my opinion
Easy mate, sell them like I did, have anyone notice its ages...... since Denon release any new decks, after Pioneer released there 2000, 900, 850 and 350 ummmm but it seems like Mr Denon your dead... point proven so all those idiots telling me Denon are good you wouldnt have a good product anymore
Mate I didnt manage to fix it so I sold it on to someone. Thing is everyone is saying blah blah Denon is good etc, let me tell you one things, I dont think they will bring out another DJ Deck, Pioneer have killed them, as they are bring out better gear. This Deck isnt user friendly mate.... To play about in your own time, maybe its ok for a while, but to play under pressure Pioneer are far better
Hi, I was wondering if you ever found a fix to the ptich problem....I have put up with it long enough...I would hate to sell them because I will lose money on it but any info you might can share would be great.
I have 2 of these and have never had any issues , I have also owned cdj 800s and had issues with them and the stupid numark cdx that thing is a omen but i have to defend the dns 3500 its an awsome deck for its price and it pisses on alot of decks in its range
Mate dont buy a Denon people say....Oh Pioneer this that...when your running a business you need something that is stable and reliable. Denon always sell the Vinyl feel idea. When techonology moves on there isnt a point to have the Viynl. Its like putting a cassette inside a IPOD pointless. Buy a Pioneer and if you dont agree email me. More expensive yes but it works like a dream and user friendly and Club standard
Holy Shizz-nitz.. I'm glad i read these guys posts on Denon, because i damn sure was going out to purchase of the S3500.. Thanks so much for all of you guys being honest.. Peace..
hi there, have you checked the slip mat recently, the are sensitive and if its not secure it can screw the time code of it, otherwise try a system reset or at least check latency settings. looks like a right pain! I had 3500's and 5500 and mine were fine. Good luck
Pioneer CDJ 2000 Dawidwarsaw, or even the lower end of the system of Pioneer something like the CDJ850, I think its not a issue having a spinning or non spinning platter, I just want the thing to work........
Dude... I must also complain on Denon DJ gear... I have DN-HS5500 and there was bunch of very serious problems with this unit and guess what? Denon discontinued this young model and whole bunch of bugs are still unfixed!!! Including: CUE SLIP, damaging tracks on USB memory when MEMO data is saved, disappearing tracks from view.
When I exposed those bugs on denondjforums com, I get BANNED and some of my posts was deleted, despite that I didn't broke any forum rules!
mine did that to begin with. i found out that when i took it back to the shop, because this model in an all metal build, it conducts heat very easily and the main conductor was overheating. his advice to me was to keep it in a cool place (body temperature preferably) and dont keep it on for like 8 hours straight. hope this helps guys and P.S nice toblerone ;)
AGREED. Denon does not have long-term plans for any of their products. Its all about new models every 6 months and promises of bug fixes via software updates, or being told to just upgrade to their newest hardware: WHAT??? I just paid you $1500 and you want me to buy ANOTHER pair? nope.... Denon has poor management and customer service, they used to be awesome but those days are long gone my friend.
@wogfun Hi mate what really annoys me is why they keep on selling the vinyl feel, I sold my S3500 to some guy, he can mess with it. I think Pioneer is basic, in looks but does a job, its abit like a PC mouse, why do you need to feel the spinning ball at the bottle, nah just move the mouse instead! I thought about reloop, but I wouldnt rate Denon again, not user friendly and basically a piece of shite!
I dunno Jigibao is the type of idiot that makes youtube bad, he probabily never even owned a Pioneer I had a pair of MK3 but dude to me leaving the country at the time I sold them, Biggest mistake, so I hate his twat that is talking about shit he dont know or own. As for Fixing the problem it still quite temperamental at time not reliable
hey stupid,cd stream reads from platter and i see your platter turns faster.you should open the cdj from onder and look for platter motor ic=intergrated circuit,as from phono player and there is "pot" for platter speed, and just slow it down until it sound the same with turning platter oor not..simple ajustment..and if jou upgrade something to another level then is normal old parameters are gone and you will get new problems..you newer do that..and ps=fuck PIONEER....overpriced plastic shitt...
@DICKSONWAN it is first of its kind and of course it is not perfect, third oor forth generation will get perfect this is first cdj of its kind.and strange i dont have your problem on mine??? and is by fabric sys99.. dooooooo
I had the same problem. I was told that it was a motor adjustment problem, which makes sense that's where the cd player gets its info on pitch in vinyl mode. If the platter/motor is spinning too fast it will give a false reading and give you the pitch problem. I found the maintenance and servicing manual online at discovery day studio. My motor among other stuff was way out. The manual gives you all the parameters for everything. Maybe I'll make a video for it soon. Yep better off with Poineer
Best thing to do is buy a Pioneer CDJ I use to have the 1000 MK3 no problem what so ever they use this marketing that Denon use, feels like real Vynal I say screw that, Anyway Spray the Magnet but spray it on a cloth then wipe the magnet should do the trick, Now mine stops on some tracks anyone had this problem?
after 4 years they still haven't fixed this problem and they don't care. There's a motor adjustment that gets out of adjustment just from heat, temp, vibration. I only buy pioneer now. They care about their reputation and have the same quality from the CDJ 200 all the way past the CDJ1000 MK3....
Well lift the plastic disc off ,and the slip mat, then there is 2 round circle in the black Denon plate grab that and lift it out, I then sprayed some WD40 on a cloth and wiped it, it seems to be better, but my Pioneer 1000MK3 where much better, So Ill just wait for the new Pioneer decks out on 17th Sept!
It seems to be better now, after I sprayed some WD40 on the Magnet, but I think the Pioneer is more solid because I had them before, sometimes have CD playing problems
I am having the same problem. I even got the pitch controls changed but nothing happened. Now i know why. How did u fix it? and where is the magnet located?
