Micro financing has its evils too. The systems of exploitation should be pulled out like weeds right now before the vines take shape. If the stories of women like Latifa become more the norm than exception than this actually does more harm than good.
Micro Financing is not a new idea in its principals it just has been given a new name. It is advertised now for a reason and that reason is doubtfully to help the poor. Its a trend that is easy to pick up if you look at the history of capitalistic oriented markets. Highlight example look at Suprime, this is A subprime. The only problem I admitedly have is this distorted view that people have of Financing oh I mean MicroFinacing.
So, microfinance encourages entrepreneurship and competition between businesses to provide a better product. And that's a disadvantage?
Consider; It would take a person in the third world who knows how long to earn the capital it takes to start a small business doing factory work, if they ever earn enough at all. Whereas, with a microfinance loan it would be almost instant. It's more expediency than anything else.

Le probléme dans cette problématique est comment realiser une telle démonstration: Perfaormance financiére et perforamnce sociale. L'un des problémes majeurs dans le contrôle d'une industrie est la gouvernance. Les IMF dans le monde en developpement est la gouvernance . A la téte de ces IMF on trouve souvent des conseils d'administration qui n'ont rien à voir avec le secteur. Ces gens là cherchent eux aussi des consédérations sociales ce qui influence directement le choix des politiques .
dans un envirenement incontrolable. Dans une économié en developpement l'Etat n'arrive pas à contrôlé même le secteur structuré et comment elle vas répondre au besoins des pauvres. Ainsi la microfinance subi les aleas de l'incontrolable. Dans un monde de l'incetain ce qui peut faire la microfinace est de se développé dans un environement de mutuelle et de coopération. Certe, le contrôle de la performance financiére est trés déterminante pour la réalisation des objectifs sociaux.

@amrita1987m I agree. It's hit or miss. I feel that this video shows us different points of view on MF and not just one solid over-commercialized view.
Grameen Bank does loan to men. However they determined that loaning to women produced more long term poverty relief that benefited entire families, including the men.
They are giving loan to man but it is proved the woman are more committed in payback the loan and in investing the money in something useful. Also most of the woman have skills like sewing and handcraft that man simply don't have.
Unfortunately sometimes the woman take the loan and the man decide what to do with the money with negative effects.
