  • Check out FloryModels weathering washes. Simple clay based washed that can be airbrushed or brushed on. One dry, the sand wash will leave a dusty finish and you can also use a moist paper towel to make steaks etc. message me if you want to know more

  • I'm a fan of the Tamiya weathering powders, they are quite easy to use and realy work well for dusty and faded affects.

  • I can recommend MIG and Flory-Models washes to help with the weathering of the Sherman...

  • Would love to see a full video build-up of the F-22...? Please? It's on my "wants" list, and I'd love to have a guide on how to do it right!

  • for a sandy. dusty finish, this is wat i suggest... with your airbrush at a low low pressure, use a thin paint with a sandy color to lightly dust your model. use a sandy colr like tamiya deck tan or khaki. the goal is to make a spattering spray pattern. go over it with a subtle sand colored pigment like mig, whic u cant buy on hlj. for a dusty finish, id try drybrushign it subtly with slightly grayer (yet lighter) main color. go over it with a light pigment. i hope that helps

  • clunky? its STARSCREAM!

  • Last one: also take a look at the filters from MIG Productions, I guess you'd want:

MIG P245 Brown for Dark Green, Filter MP245

Although you can make your own filters with oil colours and thinner yourself (for less then half the price ;-), as a beginner I found it quite difficult to find the right mixture, so I recommend the pre-made ones.

  • But be careful, I just more or less ruined a Tiger 1 with my first try on pigments, the poor things looks like it has been playing with the pigs in a mudhole - so don't overdue it ;-)

And keep up your good videos, I've just returned to the hobby and your Modelling 101 series was a great help!

  • As 58kirk already said: pigments and washes is the way. Also ,search youtube for "Weathering Powders: Let's make mud?"

Also I can recommend Mig Jimenez Blog for more some realy nice effects:

  • Check out, ScaleModelMedic. He has some good vids on weathering. Also Michigan Toy Soldier, and MIG. Best way is through washes and pigments, all these sites show them. Good luck and hope you enjoy the armor build, I am an old "Tread-head" in life and hobby.
