I have to admit this is quite an unusual selection from the Well-Tempered Clavier book II for such a young person as you to be learning. This performance was very well executed, and I like the fact you didn't overwhelm it with the sustain pedal, like a lot of people feel tempted to do. This is such a good performance of this fugue. You have wonderful hands for the piano and such a clear touch. Your trills are perfect, it has a nice bounce and is full of character. Your left hand plays just as good as your right. That is very rare! Well done Vivian.

Great job, Vivian! You are very much on the right track in your interpretation of this fugue, I think. I hope you continue to play Bach; I know you love Chopin, but Chopin loved Bach, and Bach will better prepare us for Chopin's more difficult pieces than Chopin's easier pieces will. I am curious as to whether your articulation came from your edition/teacher, or if your teacher encourages you to figure out the articulation on your own. The choices were good, I think, but I am just curious.

Yeah, I concur with the comments about Vivian's long, elegant, and powerful fingers; a born pianist. Daniel Barenboim says that he plays Bach, not with the right and left hand, but with ten independent digits working as a unit. I can see this theory in action here. A very assured performance by a young lady who is evolving in front of our eyes in many and wondrous ways. Another triumph!
