  • the engine on the 2008-present (North America) 2011- (South America)

Chevrolet Traverse/ Chevrolet Grand Blazer (South America)

    Engine

3.6L VVT DI High Feature V6

  • @Annihilator1111 Oil burner.

  • @RaguelAngelofBalance does it have a bad engine

  • @Annihilator1111 From what I've read around on the internet, it can be. I'm sure newer models are better. Just do a search.

  • best suv,best price.

  • A very over priced suv, with an absolutely terrible interior. Get a Durango, its cheaper, and has a much nicer interior.

  • @chrysleristhebest1 over priced to YOU

  • @atlantaboy1122

    ahaha, ur funny ;D

    fuck off though .

  • hi,you are wrong, i had paid 32000 drive out for traverse Lt fully loaded.

  • This thing is amazing. We test drove one and it was the most comfortable suv Ive sat in. It drove well, rode amazing, was so quiet, had adequet power, ect. We coulndt afford it though, but the Equinox was the same way. We need one of the two. Not to mention the quality feel in both that the Rav4, CRV, Highlander, and Pilot lack.

  • Traverse Vs. Ford Edge, man if i had 40k, i couldn't make a decision there..

  • @sandythebear Id go with the Traverse cause the Flex is hideous. But thats me.

  • @Motorfordtoyota Either way you can't lose in ford vs chevrolet match ups :)

  • @sandythebear True, cause either way your getting a better product then a Toyota or Honda. Cause BOTH jap makers have lost quality recently, and charge too much.

  • i have owned my traverse for about 7 months now, and it is hands down the absolute best vehicle i have ever had. I have owned fords, nissans, merceds-benz, toyota, u name it. the traverse puts them all to shame. absolutely fantastic vehicle.

  • @w225151 Ya, ok.....

  • 4:13

  • 2011 mitsubishi outlander sport has better gas mileage 23/31

  • @naekerb So? Does the outlander have a third row seat big enough to accompany a mid size adult? No. God dam, people like you should learn how to compare proper vehicles.

  • '

    oh no no thank,,,

i dont like this chevy traverse SUV,,,

1 - how come this traverse do not have 2 amber yellow lights on the rear taillights for turning sign and emergency parking lot,,,

    2 - traverse is a poor design

  • @bestamerica i agree or in other words its a big piece of crap

  • Blackarrow8918,

    '

    hi there,,,

    yes that is right

  • I have owned my Traverse for over 9 months and i have to admit it... "My names Carmen and im a Traverse-a-holic" lol. I love this truck/crossover! Excellent quality and no road noise even at 85+mph on the highway LOL.

  • I went to Rochester, NY in my new Traverse. It is a beast on the highway. This is one vehicle that you will enjoy driving on the highway long distance.

  • THIS THING IS A BEAST ON THE HIGHWAY!

i was going to new york just this past thursday with my traverse and i had to fill up once it was past the half way mark by a little and it cost $37. it's amazing for long distance drives (My version is the LTZ)

  • I purchased the Traverse LT-2 AWD, a few months ago. I have to put in $60 to $70 in gas every week. The car takes up 23mpg hwy/ 16 or 17 city. The car rides great. Depending on how much driving you do. The Traverse is about a 1' foot shorter than the Tahoe, but it rides better.

  • very very good looking car beats honda and toyota...well anything beats honda and toyota!

  • i have the same problem. i have it for one month and it leaks oil in my driveway. Sad part about it is that i have 560 miles on it.

  • Can someone who owns a Traverse tell me how much gasoline does this thing need? With how much money do you fill the tank and how often?

  • @MrColdStove well it matters how far your work is from your house because my mom does about $30 a week

  • The Traverse is the better car vs any other. I haven't researched the Mazda Cx-9 yet, but I am quite shure this beats it.

  • Its junk. I know someone who just bought a new one and 2 weeks later it was leaking motor oil all over his driveway. The block was porous, something like that. It must be made out of chewing gum and toothpicks lol.

  • were probably going to lease this vehicle in a month or so...

  • ver nice~

  • the chevy traverse is a very good family car.

  • The Traverse has a better warranty, more room and better mpg than Honda pilot

  • @starview1 And it drives better!!

  • The second row seats looks really easy to move out of the way to get to the third row but what about having 2 child car seats in the second row and you just happen to have a person that you need to transport quickly from the third row. I guess you'd have to get them climb from the back or remove the child car seat and then out it back..I have 2 year old twins. so both sides of the second row are used. the third row needs to become easy to access with out the bottom cushion part to move.

  • @aspugliese If you have to do that often, it may be better to put one child in the 3rd row and that would leave space for an adult on the 2nd and 3rd rows.

  • i just recently rent a chev traverse, and it drove very well on ice, and snow packed parking lots, driveways, and roads.

I was quite surprised with how well it handled in that conditions.

  • Test driving this model, I found not only smooth driving and lots of power but the quietest driving of any I have test drove.

The 2010 model might have some instrument panel issues as far as convenience goes. Lots of driver room for a person who is actually 6 foot tall. Certainly you can find issues with any make of car, so don't judge a car just by its shortcomings, unless they really bother you, beyond your comfort level.

  • I forgot to say , I test drive this one and so steering so heavy and material so cheap

  • Whatever how it's great , but in the end it's Chevrolet , 0 resale value

  • its sooo0o BIG its the same size as a van but i like it i guess but i really like the the toyota highlander because it has better gas milliage

  • we had rented this traverse it drove really smooth and it was really queit but it was very cheaply buit, it was all plastic.

  • @enjoipanda3

Whats it suppose to be made of paper? The plastic in this car is high quailty plastics.

  • @enjoipanda3 What car isn't

  • this vehicle looks much better in person, pictures don't do it justice, plus i was impressed with the materials and quality overall. i like it very much, greetings from germany

  • if anything we should be looking toward companies like !Tesla! for a better answer in vehicle development. With ideas to better that companies we could expand our development in better vehicles a lot faster then relying on how much "fuel" you save in the vehicles of today

  • as for the automation business people are afraid of the idea of lost jobs rather then the expansion of innovation and technology. yes there is the scare of a so called "singularity" but that's pure nonsense if robots can only be as smart as there creators. People have also complained on the idea that there would be less need for the mechanical business if things become more efficient. It seems that people are more obsessed with themselves rather then the idea of social evolution and development.

  • realistically all of these vehicles suck regardless of the brand. As much as they say your saving on fuel here and there you shouldn't even need the resource all together. The only issue we have in innovation for a better vehicle is the the oil companies and the loss of jobs through automation and mechanical jobs. These oil companies will lose so much money if we develop better vehicles that don't need the resource and as it stands now that's what north America is stabilized by.

  • if it wasn't a Chevy id buy it

  • I was talking about ww2 idiot.

  • yes we can. we did kick your asses did we not?

  • fuck those Japanese companies. we Americans can build something better.

  • Comment removed

  • We were looking at buying this car, but my dad liked the KIA MOHAVE More instead. The Traverse has sharper design, but no where near the options our Mohave Has. But from a design point of view, i like the Chevy. Also my dad did not buy it cuz it was American. He just doesn't trust them for some reason

  • hey, i think this is the american version of the Chevy Captiva in indonesia....

  • Comment removed

  • Umm..no

  • well it looks very similar....

  • actually it doesnt look like it at all

  • chevy rocks NOT FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • Ford is better!!!!!!!!!!

  • FORD SUCKS CHEVY OWNS!!!

  • Chevy is good. BUT FORD IS BETTER!

Just look in the economy section, FORD is doing better than Chevy - GM

  • I hate that stupid on star

  • plus its so expensive

  • here's a german that likes a lt of american cars, but i find it somewhat funny that an american "mid size" car is in most cases still bigger than a european full size :D i kinda like that :D

  • Lastly, the EPA fuel numbers for this vehicle meet or exceed all others in this segment. Why are you comparing the mileage of this SUV to that of a CAR? CHGMANCHCNTGNMACNCH, you want to hate American cars, even if they are good vehicles. Retards like you continue to spread misconceptions about american cars even after they have surpassed imports in quality, price and performance. Don't live in the past -- new american cars are GOOD cars.

  • yes they have!!! Example "Ford Fusion". vs "Honda Accord!" stop bashing everything American... we are sick of that now.. Its played out!!!! Move to Japan or Germany!!!

  • Clearly you are a die hard import fan!!!! I give up no use!!!!! Like arguing with the taliban about womens rights!!!!!!LMAO!!!

  • Who doesn't want free money for little work

  • Hell I want free money for nothing, but it won't happen. Traverse is a piece of crap cardboard box.

  • Traverse might not be the best truck, but if you want a cheap cardboard box than get a Honda Element.

By the way the best truck in the market, is the 2009 FORD FLEX!!!

  • Traverse is certainly not the best. Plus its worse than all foreign cars. This is an overpriced cardboard box and so is the 2009 FORD FLEX. I don't understand how it can be the best on the market.

  • The flex isnt a truck, neither is the traverse

  • @CHGMANCHG Clearly you are miss informed! I am an educated black male that doesn't not accept government handouts because unlike so many other of my fellow black Americans, My family always viewed that in a negative light. You are a republican who bashes socialism and those who positive views of it with labels and slurs at your hate rally when you are the main ones who sent all the jobs over seas and stood on capital hill with your hand out for a ball out.

  • @rayamanelly rofl

  • Sounds to me like someone is panicking that his world view is being challenged.

Sorry dude... you're wrong, American cars are in, foreign cars are falling to the vices that cursed American cars once before.. cats and dogs, living together..

You might as well just come to terms with it now to save face.

  • This car is such a rip off comparing to a Lexus, Audi, Mercedes benz, etc. I can even get more amenities and triple the quality for half the price in a Camry, Elantra, Jetta TDI, etc.

I've tested these cars. American cars except Corvette are a lemon. $38-50K, you can even buy a Corvette for this money.

  • That car gets a disgustingly horrible gas mileage. This is not a revolutionary technology.

  • ARE YOU NUTS!!! The gas mileage for this car beats the Honda Pilot and is the same as the Toyota Highlander. THE FIRST CHEVY TO BEAT ANY JAPANESE CAR IN GAS MILEAGE. !!!

  • As good as the numbers sound. EPA is mostly incorrect. Most SUVs get less than the EPA readings. The MPGs suck. The goodies are nice, but this is over 20 years behind. This is a WalMart or Kmart car. 38-50K for this budget car. You can buy an Audi, Lexus, etc. Its a lemon. This is a low pressure direct injection. How can this get a better fuel economy?

  • This is a very uninformed comment.

First of all, there is no 50k Traverse. It's 45k if you check every single freakin' option (which only a retard would do), and is competetive with the pricing on other SUVs. Most people will pay 35k-ish.

Second... saying this car costs as much as an Audi is also moronic, because again, you're speaking about Audi CARS. Give me the price of a similarly equipped Audi Q7, and tell me they are the same. If you need an SUV, you aren't considering a sedan.

  • it's awesome on the inside but the AWD uses alot of gas subaru AWD's use less. Also it looks ugly, I'm getting a forester third rows are nice, so are folding seats, but this car seams cheap, a car loaded with features that will all break down within a year. Sorry chevy, but untill I hear some more from your latest car, Im

sticking with the ever reliable subi

  • Where European cars excel over American cars is the Exotic Supercars. When it comes to big comfy SUVs and Trucks, America wins.

  • the subaru forester is epic we are looking for a viechle with good fuel economy and we're 4. It would be nice to have a 3rd row, but do we need it?

  • @jmacplayinbass

Europe has the best trucks. Daimler has Freightliners which are huge diesel trucks. The US has no counterpart.

  • @JeremyFuhenstasser

Uhh. PACCAR. Owns Leyland and DAF, both European.

  • i gotta agree with fonsecfh, i'm not american but i'd prefer american cars over european, they can dish out very good cars in any segment at much better prices than the european carmakers, i also gotta agree with hazzi15 said.

  • Man it looks like crap. Cheap looking, non stylish, and a cheap interior. What is GM thinking

  • Direct injection has been introduced long time ago. Traction control and stability control have been introduced 20 years ago. This is not a high pressure electronic direction. Man this car is a dinosaur. Its like buying old technology from rich countries. Does not sound stable. Gas guzzler. 30,000 for this piece of crap. I can buy a nice German car for less than this. Man is American GM, Ford and Chrysler behind.

  • dude this car get's great milage no other 8 seater uses this amount of gas it's amazing. Still I'd feel safer in a subaru

  • The gas mileage is terrible

  • Great review, you covered many of the most important points, something most of other reviewers tend to miss.

  • Great car,but i don't think it can fit 7 passenger...but it's nice.

  • I really wish people will stop saying words such as "European flare", "European Ride", "European handling" screw Europe bigtime, We invented the first car (Ford) and we have OUR way of designing and manufacturing car, we don't need the Europeans flare to create nice cars!

  • yes you do..one of the best cars america makes, the Ford GT, was primarily made by lotus.. Lots of american cars are made by Britain and Germany. The new Camaro is made with a similar engine as the Vauxhall.. which is Australian. America is the best country in the world, but not as far as cars are concerned.

  • I agree with you!!!although i am not american i prefer american cars!!!!!they look more strong than any other SUV.

  • It's FLAIR not FLARE. By the way Karl Friedrich Benz invented the first automobile in 1885 in Germany. Ford invented the ASSEMBLY LINE. Know your facts before you open your mouth.

  • im sorry pathos66 but im going to respectfully disagree with you on that.

    Mr. Benz didnt invent the first automobile;

    neither did ford.

Ferdinand Verbiest, a member of a Jesuit mission in China, built the first steam-powered vehicle around 1672 which was of small scale and designed as a toy for the Chinese Emperor, that was unable to carry a driver or a passenger, but quite possibly, was the first working steam-powered vehicle ('auto-mobile')

  • You're splitting hairs. You can argue the point and drag out the most obscure facts if you want but Karl Benz is recognized by just about every major authority in the automobile world as the inventor of the first true automobile (gasoline). Google it, everyone can't be wrong! Oh well It's not worth arguing about, I'm Canadian what the hell do I care?

  • i was just stating a actual fact on who actually invented it.

but if you want to talk about who had the same idea but for more better purpose of its uses; then yeah ill have to agree with you that Karl Benz was was the first.

  • I like this version better than the GMC Acadi, but I still like the the Saturn Outlook and Buick Enclave

  • I love ford but its nicer then the flex..

  • When describing the interior you say, "is suprisingly stylish, efficient, and well appointed", redundant is not the best of words to describe the rear climate and audio controls for 2nd row passengers. Just a thought.
