I've read serveral solutions to this problem, mostly people use hdimi splitters or repeaters. But if I buy an receiver that is advertised for doing functions I don't want to buy an extra piece of hardware to fix problems of the receiver.
Currently i've upgraded the receiver to the TX-SR608 and this receiver works perfectly! I can defenetly advise the TX-SR608 to people. Much better "warmer" sound and the OSD is 200x better than that one of the 508.

you need a HDMI repeater then you have no more problems, i also had nothing on my screen and when i put a HDMI repeater on it i had no more problems.
I use the KONIG HDMI REPEATER 34 GHz.

I came across someone else who seemed to have a similar problem. He put a splitter on the hdmi and the picture apparently got better.
