when saoking them do they need to be in a dark place? Also, once drained do they need to be located in a dark area and how do I know how long to let them grow since some seeds people seem to let grow longer than others. thank you!

OMG if you have kids, you have to grow a TickleMe Plant. It is the only plant that MOVES when you Tickle It! The leaves suddenly fold and even the branches droop when Tickled. Just google TickleMe Plant to easily grow your own and to watch it moves..Its a wow!
You know, someone gave me two thumbs down and all I did was ask a question. I did not mean the obvious plant them rather then eat them but what I should have asked was how do I replenish these to keep them in stock rather then running to an online store for more. I know we eat them but I was looking to understanding how to reproduce them on a continual basis, sorta like having some go to seed to grow more and increase ones store of them without rebuying them
haha, i see what you mean but the way you worded it made me laugh.
if its pumpkin seeds for example then you get the seeds from a pumpkin but who has the time to grow the vegetables??? if its not seeds then its usually some kind of pea, its just a case of growing them, but many like me are not interested in that so we will just buy the seed/peas
Yeah it was my fault in the way I worded it and I dont mind no one getting a laugh at my expense but I never understand why people thumb down ya for asking a question, it dont make sense.
I have time to grow vegies is why I ask lol Besides with this GMO BS its the best thing you can do is save your seeds, heck look at the trap 100,000 farmers in india (who all committed suicide) fell into to. It will come to a place where we are just trying to feed ourselves and Im interested in knowing this
hi.I began the process of sprouting lentils and mung. The mung beans are sprouting however the lentils are not. I soaked them overnight for about 9-10 hours and since then have been rinsing them about 2-3 times a day and after about 4 days still no spourt. Do I have to peel the fine skin/film off of the lentil. I bought organic non-split whole lentils. I have been letting them sit in a collinder/strainer. Thanks for any advice- I am very enthusiastic and not pleased that they are not growing.
The seeds need to be viable to sprout, by that I mean 'growable' - some processes can kill the seed so that it will not grow. That might be your problem with the lentils you used, they should have little sprouts by the 4th day, but if they haven't shown ANY growth, they might be dead or 'inert' seeds. I'm not an expert, perhaps someone else can fill out the details.
Yes to what intrepidxxx said. If you bought "regular" lentils, they probably have chemicals on them from the field and may not grow because they are not designed to be alive when you eat them. If you buy organic or sprouting seeds, they are designed to be alive and will sprout easily. If your grocery store does not carry them, check at your local organic food coop or farmers coop for viable/live seeds. Good luck.
hey, would u share your sprouter system with us? i teach, "getting in n out of kitchen faSt" with healthy stuff, in Hawaii - to mums n kids. thanks so much, lahela
Nice Video, I myself have to trying to get into sprouts. Still not a big fan, but i makes sense to eat living food not dead food. by living i mean vegetables and fruits, not animals. Especially sprouts.
