@drewboy146 well the board i was riding that particular day and for a while was the 2008 David Hubbard Signature....they make standup boards out there, but i dont really like um, they're too big making it hard to get out on big days(2ft ovrhd+++). they dont make the board anymore, but i would recommend his new board from morey, i've stood up on it a few times and i can tell you works real smooth, as it does DK...basically go for a versatile board that you know will fit your style of riding...
@suppaduppa5 Great work. I want to start practicing standing on these to improve my shortboard surfing, plus I won't have to be in the restricted zone. What Morey are you talking about and what size is the board you were using? Thanks.
@rashb oh, this to shortboarding if waaaayyy different. trust me...It WILL however, increase your reaction timing and quickness for getting up...Anyway, the board that i'm using now is a Morey Dub Signature 7ss...It rides really smooth when i stand up, and climbs every chop(well, for me anyway)...1 more thing, DK is ALOT harder then both stand up AND shortboarding, so you want a challenge? start DKing, alot more fulfilling as well.
@suppaduppa5 Thanks. I bought a Catch Surf "Beater" body board, which your supposed to be able to stand up on. But I never was able too. But just from trying for an hour to stand up on it, I was finally able to ride a 6 ft board. So it did improve as you said the timing and quickness. Now I want a full blown body board, because it was fun and I think they will be better than the "beater". I appreciate your reply and the video. Thanks.
