Love your videos, boss setup! Love the fact that you're doing it yourself too. Used to be a bass head myself hitting 149.1 dB with 2 MMATS 15's in a ported enclosure but had to sell the gear because I got constant ringing in my ears. Tinnitus sucks. Keep it up man, while I don't rock a system anymore I still love to install and see what other people are doing.

@2222Public In this kind of SPL application it makes more sense to have as little space between subs as possible to generate the greatest amount of pressure output. More spacing would just increase dead space and decrease the efficiency of the subs. Also, when building this kind of enclosure there are very specific volumetric requirements matched with port size and depth to maximize output at a resonant frequency. Changing any dimension would result in a loss of dB.

I have done and seen this done numerous times, either like you did it by making a slot or with a 1/2"-3/4" rabbet on the back of panel covers, ports etc. kind of like how premade sub boxes have the sides recessed a few centimeters so the carpet can be folded over then cut without leaving an obvious seam

DIYMAudio has dozens of projects that show ways to hide seams

"SMS auto fabric" has the best prices, way cheaper than Katskin, and selection for vinyl leather carpet headliner....etc
