I had insomnia and i went to psyhiatrist and I told him about it and he toldme to take
remeron and zypexa to take it before i sleep...man its shit..i felt dizzy and my temeper was strange..I was like a wet towel..ifelt very lazy...any small thing
make angry..thin i stoped taking it..it was 30mg and zypexa 5mg damn its shit
my life is much better without.it.so be carefull guys when u go to psychiatrists
@TheVictory1964 yes Remeron is helpful once you adjust to it.. it took me two weeks.. but within those two weeks i was short tempered and snappy attitude.. but it has worked for me but its been like over 2yrs now and i now take 7.5 because im gaining weight like you wouldnt believe! Psychiatrists are pill pushers, so i hope people do their homework when they go to the pharmacy and take whatever they give you.. i know i do now..im getting closer and closer of getting off this mess.
@hypophosphorus666 nope just. 25.. I might bought a pill cutter when the times comes I will cut. 25 in half and so on. Your right, benzos are awful, but they work for me for bedtime. But they ar not good in the long run.
the lorazepam your tolerance will build up so high... you will be taking more and more.. 2mg.. now i bet when you take them.. they do nothing to you..
@hypophosphorus666 actually your wrong. I take. 25 ativan now and 7.5 mirtazapine .. and still sleep..the doctor is lowering ativan again in july. Loerazapam has a long life so building a tolerance is not as bad as other.
Good video, I too take mirtazapine for depression / aniexty / sleep aid. For me it is very important to time the dose of the mirazapine right. In lower dosage(15mg) than what is effective as antianiety and depr, the beneficial side effect of sleepyness occurs as medicine onsets approx 45min-hour after dose. This happens with about a 15minute window so I need to be ready for bed then I take the remaining portion of 45mg tablet. (I am revcovered alcoholic so I stay away from the benzos)
Interesting.........I have taken lorazepam on an "as need" basis for insomnia, and I've never taken it more than three days in a row, usually .5 to 1 mg at the most. I'm currently dabbling with homeopathic remedies like Valerian root and melatonin which seem to do wonders for me.
The best remedy for me is running 20-25 miles per week, since the fatigue that you incur from wearing your body out will make you crave sleep.
Mirtaipine is a good anti-depressant. IF, u don't care about the weight gain and increase in appetite. But 4 some people, getting off of it after awhile can prove to be a huge hurdle to overcome. This is what physicians neglect to point out. And some people would go as far as to say they faced just as bad of a withdrawal from Mirtazipine than benzos. All I have to say to those people is, ur right, but try cold turkeying off Clonazepam..
Half-life = high = longer and harder withdrawal. Period.
ativan never helped me when i was on it at all. If anything I got really bad anxiety and restless leg syndrome along with it and had to take mirapex. eventually i started taking prozac, dont know why i forget but my insomnia seemed to have gone away slowly and it did for a while. 3 months after, my insomnia is back, I havent gone to sleep in the past 72 hours and i think im going to have to go to urgent care soon because i feel like im going insane. Insomnia is horrible!
same condition here and mirtazapine has been working great for me since 3 months but now I feel some symptoms of depression and anxiety coming back so I think I need a dose increase. It has worked wonders for me.
mirtazapine is great for sleep but it makes me so hungry so i stopped taking it later i was put on lorazepam for anxiety attacks from the er well it makes me sick i puke when i take 1mg and tried half of 1mg so idk what is going on i stopped it not supposed to it is dangerous to cold turkey it and now w/d is so bad but better for me then getting sick everyday i'm going to try xanax or valium
I take mirtazapine and lorazepam (and haldol) I have been getting this strange feeling in the evenings, I call the 's' feeling. I get extremely hateful of life in general. I wish I had a button at these times where I could press it and instantly die. I have tried overdosing before, but got revived in time. All but two hours of the day I want to live and enjoy life, but those two hours are really hard to get through. I don't want to kill myself, except during this evening phase. the pain
2 mg of Ativan is a very high dosage..thats equivalent to 20mg of valium. Be careful about LONGTERM usage, 6 months, is a longtime, you can become very addicted to it.
@DavidChris8615 Yes it is dangerous taking as long as i have, im not addicted to them but my body is!! hard to explain, im not on 1mg for good, and tapering down in three months to .50 and so forth.
@masterpsychosis thats good, the best for withdrawal symptoms of ativan is valium. Mainly because it is longer acting. Has the doctor ever tried you on Trazdone or Desyrel? You could also take Tryptophan, because once you go off the ativan, a lot of the time there is rebound anxiety/insomnia
@DavidChris8615 Lorazepam is indeed addictive at almost any dose, but 2mg is not very high its average actually. 4mg is the max recommended daily dose of Lorazepam.
Interestingly enough, I'm on the same dosage for these drugs. However, I find that when I wake up I feel very drugged, lethargic, and sluggish with the Mirtazapine. In addition to that, I usually have a headache and feel hazzy. Do you get this feeling? Also, did you do a sleep study? Thanks!
@T76 No sleep study, just the medicines where give, no headaches, the hazzy part i personally believe lorazepam has alot to do with that. I find it very VERY hard to wake up, especially if your alarm is not set. I am now on 1mg of ativan (Was two on this video) and the effects are still the same! I start coming off of it and will do a video when that happens.. it will be interesting considering i have been taking this for 2 and half years.
I love the mirtazapine at first, improoved my mood and totally helps my IBS, and dumping syndrom I had from a prior surgery. but I cant quit eating on this drug, ive gained 55 lbs. I need a appetite suppressant taken with it.
as they stimulate the 5ht2 receptors.Just more evidence not to take your psychiatrists word as gospel.I don't believe a word they say but won't go into that....
I was put on paxil but told my doc I wanted off them so she put me on mirtazapine (even though I have anxiety problems my doctor keeps putting me on anti depres) I have found they give very vivid and weird as fuck dreams.
im on 30 mgs mirt and 40mg diazapam and was also takin promethazine (anti hystameen sleepin pill) the valium is shit n dnt work anymore cos my tolerance has built up so comin down, stopped the promethazine cos it gav me heart burn the mirtazapine is workin good part from the mental dreams, id been on it b4 but was drinkin alot at the same time, now im off the booze n if u take least an hrs exercise a day it keeps the weight off
I take this combination about 1 hour prior to betime.. seems like it kicks in about one hour. if you have supper around 6 or 7.. then taking the combo around 9 or 10 pm should be ok. Its different for everybody, but in my case, i eat a light supper, then around 9 take the medicine, wait about 20 minutes get a small bowl of cereal, eat that.. and sleeping by 10:30pm. Been working that way for a year now!
my dad has been suffering from anxiety, depression and insomnia for the last 4 months, we have tried many combinations with much success. now he has been prescribed a combination of mirtazapine, olazapine and lorezapam ... we really hope it works...any comments on the above will be more than welcome. Also, read somewhere that mirtazapine + lorazepam can sometimes enhance the depressant effects ...any view on this?
My psychiatrist had intentions that lorezepam would make the sedative anti-depressant mirtazapine work even better combined with lorezapam to get me to sleep without anxiety thanx to lorezapam. His idea was to get me to sleep fast, stay asleep and not worry about not being able to sleep! This combination keeps me from thinking too much when in bed. So far its been over half a year and its perfect! Its interesting that olazapine is also mentioned.. i suppose he takes that in the morning...
xanax, ativan, ect.....LOST MY HOME over panic attacks and NOT taking THOSE type of drugs, NOW that i WANT to take THEM types, my dr's will not let me ( become addicting to it) but when i did take a benzo with TRAMDOL i sleep well and was happy the next day! i cant take SSRI'S dr just gave me mirtzapine(remron) but scared of gaing wheight! also buspirone...THAT im scared of with alll the side effects. SORRY just thought i vent and make a friend. my o.c.d, anxity and depresion comes and goes
So far I haven't heard any stories on withdrawals from Remeron... If there is such symptoms of withdrawal it cannot compare to Paxil im sure... about 75% of my insomnia is associated with depression according to my psychiatrist..from work and my relationship.. i wish could stay away from medicine, but life's a bitch.
@masterpsychosis I went off remeron (mirtazapine) for about a week last summer, i take it to sleep. I wanted to see if I could sleep without it now that I've matured a bit more. I didn't suffer any withdrawals, just couldn't sleep again. I went back on, glad I did.
@Nicholasursino interesting that you had no withdrawals, thanks for the information.. yes it helps me sleep very well and has been for about 2 perfect years of no insomnia!
slightly.. not much. Compared to Zyprexia, Symbyax, Seroquel. I gained 28 pounds on Symbyax (zyprexia & prozac) and that was bad.. i lost all that weight and now i just gained 4 pounds on this. I watch what i eat towards the evening and night. Seems like you gain more if you pig out 4 hours prior to bed time. So dont over do it, if your taking mirtazapine. Weight gain is not a huge problem with this med. Vivid dreams on the other hand, thats a side effect you will see.
I tried it mirtazapine on its own one night when i was out of lorezapam and i did sleep but it took a while and woke up 3 times during the night.. so i got about 6 hours of sleep instead of the usual full 8. I do not know about your case but i have a real hard time getting to sleep and staying asleep. But taking both is a whole different story, it works.. just have a hard time waking up and getting outta bed, but its worth a full nights sleep!!!
thats how it was with me, ativan wasnt much, but for some reason mirtazapine (remeron) combined is a whole different story.. (in my case) i had still have.. severe insomnia.
I had insomnia and i went to psyhiatrist and I told him about it and he toldme to take
