I love how Nintendo gives us another option for another DSi! I love big screens :p The pixels will also be bigger, so it won't hurt your eyes (you can't focus on small pixels, that's why people get glasses).

Hey guys, a friend of mine got it from japan,and the screen is realy blocky,and you realy notice that if you play Mario and Zelda games like that..but if you play sudoku or braintraining you wouldn't note any difference. The thing is heavy ( but dohh what you expect) ..the battery stays longer then the original DS or DSi,also the sound is aproved..but I think there is no real reason too buy this thing,money waste...

Buying one of these is, honestly, a waste of money; especially if you already have a DSi or DS Lite. Instead, save the cash for the successor to the DS which will have high-resolution graphics. (Satoru Iwata has stated that it is already in the works)

@jbench027 The DSi (DSi and LL are the same just one is larger) cant be changed to english. Theres a region lock on it so its impossible. Only Japanese games can be played with it.

@Raggie94 Actually, Shigeru Miyamoto said that they decided to make a small and big version of the DSi. After Nintendo finished producing the DSi, they quickly started on the DSi LL(XL). They can't manufacture both at the same time so they finished one first, then started on the other.

i cant wait to get this, the ds has so many great timeless games like the imagine series for example. I can see myself getting hours of fun out of this improved product with its high quality camera and audio both used effectively in most of its games. The best addition from the ds is the dsi ware providing amazing games. The internet browser is ace, although it cuts every 12 minutes 9 of those minutes are loading always at 3 bars of reception.

Same resolution so pixels are very large and obvious. Circles look pretty jagged and bad to be honest.

Reflection is also a bit harder now the screens are so large...if there a light on above you you're much more likely to have it reflect off the lower screen.

The lower screen feels redundant as well as it's harder to get both screens at a non background reflecting angle...for me at least.

By the way it's very funny about the launch in Japan...they want to exaggerate how much bigger it is...so the box is about 2.5 times bigger than the DSi...

Plus they put that bigger box INSIDE a launch day box than is a further 3 times the volume, and contains only extra air.

You could carry 6 retail DSi boxes in the DSi LL launchday box.

I'm in Japan and got one today...much bigger than a dsi but the pixels are very noticable now...like playing snes on a hi def tv. It does feel a bit like it is designed for old people or sight impaired..it's also like using windows with large fonts turned on.

Verdict is it's not the most exciting release really...try using your dsi under a magnifying glass and that's what it is.
