I remember watching this right after the regular Alf cartoon. I think I liked Alf Tales better than the other Alf cartoon, because it lampooned classic stories like Robin Hood and Sleepy Hollow.
I love Alf Tales. It spoofs both a fairy tale and a film genre simultaneously, often with surrealistic results. It is the 80’s version of "Fractured Fairy Tales" with a delicious twist.
Alf tales was a truly genious work of art. As a small child me and my brothers watched it, and even today we use quotes from the show when interacting with each other. Same with Darkwing Duck.
I remember watching this show as a kid. I wasn't really super into it but looking back at the animation, especially the intro, I'd have to say that's some of the best animation I've seen in a long time. Kinda sucks though when studios outsource to lesser talent to animate their shows, just to save a buck.
Man, i hated Alf Tales as a kid. The original animated series which featured ALF's family and friends from the planet Melmack was way better. Does anyone have that intro??? I would love to see that again.
@flamez34 They were both part of the same show. One half was Gordon's family and friends, the other half was Alf Tales, which was like Fractured Fairy Tales. Both segments were awesome.
Now, that must be season one where they said "Melmakian" instead of season two wehre they said "Melmagian" and the voice of . . . I'm sorry, I'm such a huge nerd. But I have this on audio tape somewhere if I'm lucky maybe I can convert it and post it.
