  • That voice.....

  • YES voice, excellent representation of Gustave Dore, art art my friend!

  • Masterpiece of the past. Tranquility and passion blind perfectly in this song.

  • Thank you Tania from Torquay for this song.

  • biker chickk - lilly & rose kenmare , great day, lovely woman

  • @matreynolds1

Considering that this song is the transition between 'Heaven' and 'Hell' on the Album,

I consider the Artwork to be very appropriate.

  • Thanks Jon..........

  • Could it be? I last heard this on the radio 30+ yr ago: I never knew the name of the song, but I knew it was Jon & probably Vangelis & I never forgot the tune. I know this was posted more'n 3 yr ago, but thanks so much.

  • This could make me cry.

  • What video? I read the comments are listen!

  • i have this LP =)

  • milton et anderson,joli duo !!

  • The music is nice but the video looks like when lucifer was vanished from heaven him and his angels the bible says they were falling from heaven like stars,THE FALLING ANGELS,its kind of weird.

  • Satan = Sat(ur)n ? God = Go(o)d ?

  • Absolutely divine!!! xo

  • Thanks Jon.....April in New York I'll be there...

  • love this song so cheesy so innocent but fuckin love it

  • Thank you for posting this wonderful song - it reminds me of my first love who passed away thirty years ago - I used to listen to this song and imagine we met again somewhere in the depths of the words of this song. I see him still every time I hear this...I hope I always will,

  • Absolutely beautiful Gary THANK YOU

  • Beautiful song & incredibly well made video....magical

  • WTF????

  • Check out the entire cd or lp called heaven and hell by jon & vangelis and go fuck yourself FoolsOFGods for being such a one sided religion idiot. who disagrees with anyone that is not the exact same as you.

  • Very pleasing to the ear.

  • Humans are mere babies looking for a parent to teach it how to be a child, so it may growup to learn what it means to BE, to exist to THINK, with the THOUGHT to see.

  • Awaken....All Ye!!....For JON speaks...

  • He would have rather ruled in hell than served in heaven. John Milton

  • An Angel being cast out of ...somehere

Un Angel que perdio su camino.....fue despedido

  • This song brings so much memories when T was in my teens and now I am 42 years of age ,and I still feel life a teenager. This song just reminds me of others who have achieved at becoming a Master ..Wonderful .

  • j'aime trop vangelis et la voix de jon c'est sublime je frissonne chaque fois! quand j'ecoute cette chanson, parmi toutes les autres !!!! thank you jon!! and vangelis too!!!

  • Perfection!

  • Lucifer was the Father´s most beloved angel at the kingdom of heaven. He fell from grace when ambition possesed his heart. This is a song that could be related with this sad story. The story of how heaven lost it´s most beautiful angel.

  • Thanks Aldoecorcega

  • @Aldodecorcega Makes you wonder how any god could make an 'angelic' being so flawed - given that the creator could have chosen to make the angels and the universe perfect, without the need for all these 'moral, ethical and theological mind games'. Of course being omniscient, this treason was not a surprise, in fact according to doctrine it was pre-destined, a form of divine entrapment? Strikes me as very secular: jealousy, war, violence, death, treason, distinctly un-majestic or even god like

  • GORGEOUS.

  • does anyone know what the images in this video mean.

Is it something to do with the fall of satan?

    Or is it something else.

    can somebody please tell me

  • They are illustrations

    of John Milton's 'Paradise Lost'.

They do have to do with the Fall of Satan.

  • @PeterThenn

    Thankyou

  • Prophet Isaiah says it in three times. 1- This angel wanted in secret to be more higher than God. 2- The rebellion and he was cast on the earth. Jesus says he was launched like a streak. 3- This angel caused Jesus death and was launched in a deep prison to be released in a thousand years. This thousand years is nowadays.

  • Since the thousand years of Imprisonment are after

    the Reign of the Anti-Christ

    in the Book of Revelations,

    that means the Anti-Christ

    and the False Prophet

    have already come and gone

    a thousand years ago.

  • According Revelations, Jesus told John, the Anti-Christ was among men since that time. The thousand years means a lapse of time that is over. The last hour of the World Trade Center is described in Revelations 18. It is like a God's cauge telling us the time. There are few pages to end.

  • @PeterThenn You need to get out more, hang around some bars, meet some women, make a few friends, and one day you might just find a life. You shouldn't believe everything Paul of Patmos (AKA John the Seer) wrote (note the Roman Catholic church has accepted that St. John and John of Patmos are NOT the same person). Revelation has stronger connections with the OT than anything in the NT, in fact the Christ is totally absence! Satan, the serpent and Lucifer, are different individuals not one

  • @FoolOfGods You assume I am Christian. Even Atheists, Satanists, and Pagans can enjoy good music and an interesting story.

  • @PeterThenn LOL YES!! PREP TO YOU PETER! If u read the Bible doesnt mean that ur a Christian and necessarily believe in it.

  • @PeterThenn Actually you are assuming my presumption is erroneous, which is in itself a mistake ... I simply read what you typed ... and the only thing I assumed was that you have a mind of your own and weren't out to play pseudo-philosophical word and mind-games ... My words were quite clear and ambiguous, with no weasel wisdom or dancing round the issue I'm a dyed in the wool heretic. People can enjoy music, it is a powerful tool, & religion has a history of misusing both power and 'tools'.

  • @FoolOfGods , The only fools on this earth are bible bashers and idiots. I wish people would'nt keep bringing religion into music. It is pointless. ' Heaven & hell DO exist, but only here on earth. It's how human beings behave towards each other that determines the difference. I am proud to be an Atheist, I believe in reality and humankind, not in some unfounded rubbish that is causing most of today's problems ie. the desire for greed. Enjoy your music.

  • @luvmedogjosie

Beliefs are founded on faith, not proof, but here you say that heaven and hell exist only here on earth. I ask you to prove such a bold statement.

  • @gandalf200948 Right, here we go,Famine, Wars, Concentration Camps, Racism, Greed, Rich, Poor, need I go on much more? These things are FACTUAL, not some made up distorted story that serves only to keep people in line. We dont need all that bullshit in our life. There is enough as it is. Heaven& Hell (if they exist), are HERE on earth already. Open your eyes, look around. Nothing wrong with faith, but to any religion that has no factual basis, get real mate?

  • @gandalf200948 We know that Science has proved that no God created us, simply evolution. All the religious teachings of all Faiths contradict each other.People were much simpler thousands of years ago, easier to control them with scary ''Tales'' of what would happen to them if they did'nt toe the line. '' Heaven'' is a state of being, knowing you are making peoples lives good. ''Hell is the opposite. It's happening all the time. We control our destiny. It's what we do that matters, not a Faith.

  • @mr1168726

Science hasn't proven that no god created us. However, it has shown beyond reasonable doubt that a god was not necessary, at least once you have assumed the existence of the universe and its laws.

  • @KaitainCPS Fair enough my friend, I dont know really how to answer your comment, but I still stick to my comments. I do accept the existence of the Universe and It's laws. Just wished people in general, would take a look around, and decide that mankind has had enough of the chaos we are causing. Wishful thinking I suppose, but maybe one day eh? Take Care.

  • @KaitainCPS I will contend that science deals with no more than the mechanism of creation, but fails to address who flipped the switch. Stories of Creation simply state that G-d turned the key and the engine cranked. They don't address how the ignition creates a spark that burns the gasoline that pushed the pistons that push the axles that roll the wheels. As a Deist I appreciate that G-d spoke and it happened, but am still curious about the mechanisms that cranked when He turned the key.

  • @skalt

Why there exists anything at all instead of nothing is the greatest mystery.

  • @FoolOfGods your interpretation isn't the only valid one anyway

  • @PeterThenn what the fuck are u talking about wierdo

  • @Egfior

    Thankyou

  • @Egfior your a little ahead of yourself I feel

  • the album is called heaven & hell so i guess you make your'e own conclusions. i would say that ure probably quite close to the truth. hell demising maybe? who knows? all that is true is that the song is truly inspiring. LOL. Gman

  • Thanks Gman

  • mooi als het leven kan zijn

  • The song and pictures tell the event told by Prophet Izaias on chapter 14 and later by Jesus.

  • One of the saddest and best songs ever.

  • Comment removed

  • One of the saddest songs of all time. There's real melancholy and loss hiding behind the major key and soaring vocal.

  • i felt that

i think is the best music i ever herd

  • Masters!!!

  • Masterpiece. La mas maravillosa armonia entre voz y musica.

  • Simplemente sublime ...

  • Tento song jsem dlouho hledal.

  • Darn near a tearjerker- rejoice in your youth

  • a masterwork

  • this is class make no mistake

  • And I always cry when I hear it.

  • Once, we did run

How we chased a million stars

And touched as only one can

    Once, we did play

    How the past delivered you

Amidst our youth wed dream away, away....

    IT´S AMAZING

  • quite simply the best pairing of vocal and instrument of all time . 'I'll find my way home' is awesome , but this ?!?! Stupendous !

  • lol, yes, Jon IS the greatest singer of all time.

This song is about soulmates, meeting again and again, time and time again.

lol. my soulmate in this time, his name is John. And we both love Vangelis and Jon, separately and together.

  • Comment removed

  • the greatest singer of all time

  • reminds me of the happiest days of my life my 1st love blindly trusting her not questioning her words thinking she was as loyal as i was

so sad people cheat on each other love could be so wonderful if nobody would cheat on each other

  • Me too, except blindly trusting him.

  • Heh. Me too, actually. Odd. :) Gives the song a strange, personal prelapsarian quality to it that matches the theme of the lyrics.

  • from 2:52 to 3:52 shakes my soul wildly, then Jon brings me peace...

  • The closest thing to musical perfection.

  • On the nail.... I had completely forgotten about this.

How could I have been so foolish ? If you are half a human, this deserves a big chunk of you heart...

It is truly beautiful and shakes me to the core.

  • Jon Anderson, is an angel in the Earth. One voice privileges, that excites us, makes our souls transcend, float, free.

Thank you for these moments ... From Sao Paulo, Brazil ...

Peace, light, harmony and spirituality to all ....

  • Brilliant!

    Absolutely brilliant!

  • my absolute favorite musical piece of all time-

the 1 song i'd take with me if i was stranded on an island-

  • Lindo, lindo, lindo

  • Amazing music from John Anderson and Vangelis... great collection of pics... the fallen angels...

  • I know this Album since long time ago

    but it is simply perfect!

  • superb music and great pictures

  • Thank you for this. What a beautiful song. While Vangelis may not have fit into Yes (he did audition after Wakeman left), his path produced much gorgeous music, and his collaborations with Jon. I love how the vocal is doubled for the last verse; Simply genius. Peace and God bless :-)

  • I bought the Heaven and Hell LP when it first came out in 1976?? AT 19 years of age, I did not really like much of the Album-just the opening movement, this one, and the last movement. Over the years, as my tastes and appreciation for art increased, this album I know consider a masterpiece.

  • Thank you.

even if this song does always make my cry.

  • Can someone out there please post a video for the track "Love is" from the Short Stories album? I am a bit of a technophobe and wouldn't know how to I'm afraid. It's another great Jon and Vangelis masterpiece that simply needs to be out there. Here's hoping !!!

  • I love the opening track of that LP Short Stories- "sitting here in the television, looking at the tube next to me-He's not been very well lately-He's been crying a little and I ain't lying-so we're sitting it out watching match of the day-Curious Electric.. Curious Electric. Well we've all gotta go anyway-I said we've all gotta go anyway. And I wouldn't mind being last in line to see such joy and fruitfulness when everyone discovers.... Short Stories" This is from memory

  • Thanks for making such a beauiful video to such a wonderful song. They fit perfectly.

  • I remember the first time I heard this on WNEW-FM radio in NY. The Nightbird, Allison Steele played it. I wrote a letter to her asking what album was this truly remarkable song from. She wrote back to me and I traveled to Greenwich Village, NY on Bleeker Street where you could find bootleg albums, picture discs, imports and other rarities. I found the Heaven & Hell album and this along with so many other Jon Anderson songs forever will remain in my heart. Thank you for sharing this.

  • przepiekne ,cudowne nagranie--tyle lat i nadal zachwyca, tworzy nastrój i sprowadza błogi spokój...słuchałem Jona gdy poznałem moją żonę i nadal go słucham .. / Z tą samą żoną ,ta sama muzyka , a to już 30 lat/

  • Thank you for posting this awesome composition. Still thrills me after 25 yrs + since I heard it for the first time. A timeless, stunning and superb work of art.

  • great.

  • Definitely the best song Jon has ever recorded. I love it. Always brings a tear to my eye.

  • I got introduced to this song in junior high, a few yrs after being intro'd to Jon's "3 Ships" album (which I STILL adore)...and I STILL love *this* song...sooooo gorgeous a Voice to take us to Heaven...I was therefore ecstatic to find "Heaven n Hell" ON CD in a Barnes & Noble two summers ago...made me the happiest Jon-n-Vangelis fan alive!

  • It's the last part of the "Heaven" track. The previous part was made famous by the legendary TV series "Cosmos" in 1980.

  • this song is epiphanic. it makes me cry

  • Used to sing this song for auditions... The REAL tears that would flow usually helped me secure the parts. Have, and shall always continue, to love those 2 guys. A magical combination if ever there was one...

  • I like to imagine this song playing right across the universe on some celestial hi fi system. It truly is heavenly to listen to.What a voice Jon Anderson has.

  • very beautyful song of dream's

  • One of my favourites from the Heaven and Hell album!

  • Jon Anderson- the voice behind a teenager

  • Wow. Stunning imagery for this song...thank you.

  • a song that transcends everything ordinary and mundane. jon is one of the few artists capable of doing this--lyrically and vocally.

  • So good to hear

  • This is like a fine wine, always get betters with age, one of V and JA's best
