those are all really good people! idk how i feel abou taylor swift playing eponine...i don't think she's very good for that role. hopefully it's just a rumor. lea michele would be perfect! Also though I think Amanda Seyfried will be a really good Cosette.

Then, on the other hand, Taylor Swift would be a fool to turn down this offer. This is her chance to either completely obliterate her non-existent acting career, or make it big. Alot of people are anticipating this movie. If she fails, she'll only gain more disdain. If she succeeds, she'll have an even bigger fan base.

Personally, while I like her music, I don't believe she fits the part of Eponine. Not to be judgmental, but Taylor Swift is blonde. I just can't see Eponine as blonde. :)

I'm impressed. You predicted pretty accurately. Of all of the ones you wanted, 2.5 were actually cast in the roles you suggested. I say the .5 because Aaron Tviet wasn't actually cast as "other people I'd like to be in the cast." ;) About Taylor Swift.... I've heard it said that (people come into our lives, for a reason..) Taylor Swift was chosen because of her massive fan base and support. But, are Taylor Swift fans really the type that like Les Mis? Is it even appropriate for them?

just saw the 1998 version with liam neeson and it was good. Liked liam ever since his appearance on star wars. Just found out 2012 version is going to be with hugh jackman, awsome. But wouldnt the story be the same.

@FoolishInTheEnd The 1998 film followed the book by Victor Hugo and the 2012 film is going to follow the 1985 Musical. So yes same story but 100x better because there adding all the music, plus in the 1998 film the cut out Eponine character which was a huge let down!

but recently they put aaron tveit as enjolras? i'm sorry, but I will always think of him as the happy, spunky fiyero. BRING ON RAMIN. EVERYONE LOVES RAMIN.

I completely agree about Emmy Rossum and Helena Bonham Carter! They're both perfect for those roles!

For some reason, I'd have serious misgivings about Lea Michelle as Eponine. I know she's an amazing singer and probably a good enough actor, but I've only ever seen her on Glee, which is so much the opposite of Les Mis. For Eponine, they need someone who can play sketchy and miserable. I thought maybe someone like a younger Rosario Dawson . . .

My Dream Cast: I'd love Colm Wilkinson as Valjean (: Alan Rickman as Javert. I'm actually pretty happy with Anne Hathaway as Fantine. Emma Watson as Eponine Bonnie Wright as Cosette (if she has the voice?) Helena Bonham Carter as Madame Thenadier Geoffrey Rush as Monsieur Thenadier. Ideally, Johnny Depp as Marius. I really like some of your ideas. Please, production gods, I need appearances by Michael Ball and Lea Salonga. And while you're at it, give Colm a cameo too. I'd also hope for some of the O2 cast to come back--I thought Samantha and Ramin in particular were great. (And Alfie, but I guess that role's already been cast. Too bad, although I think Hugh can do it justice.)

I don't know what I think of Anne Hathway playing Fantine. I wouldn't have ever thought of her. To be honest, I'm actually a bit dissapointed it is going to be her. However, I love the rest of the announced cast. I really want to find out who's going to be playing Eponine because if there isn't a good Eponine then there's really no point in seeing it.

@HappyThoughtsToU I think she'll do fine, she is a great actress and has a good voice. As for her being young, she's actually the right age. In the book Fantine dies at 27. It's part of what makes her character so tragic. She's an extremely young woman trying to raise her child after being abandoned by her lover. I'm very glad they kept her young in this movie.

@hphgnyc Well I'll still see it anyway because it's my favourite musical. I don't think Lea Michele was the right choice either. I would much prefer a West End dominated cast with people who have played the roles before like Ramin Karimloo, Earl Carpenter, Katie Hall, Alfie Boe, Rosalind James, Ashley Artus, Samantha Barks and so on instead of making it all 'hollywood'.

I don't think they realised that Les Mis already has a big following so 'big stars' were unecessary.

Love the idea of J. Groff as Marius and Nicole Kidman as Fantine, I forgot that she can sing, I'd love Alan Rickman to play Javert but yes in a perfect world, Quarst is the man. Rumors of Emma Watson as Cosette seem reasonable but I'd prefer her to be Eponine, and speaking of which Dan Radcliffe has proved his musical talents I'd love to see him in this. oh and Geoffrey Rush as Thenardier? WIN!!!!!!!

Well, you were right on two counts! Hugh Jackman will be playing Valjean, and Helena Bonham Carter is playing Madame Thenardier. The only other confirmed role is Russell Crowe as Javert. It's a good cast for the most part. I like you choice for Cosette, Lucie Jones. Does she sing?

@jbbrasilsuperfan Jonathan Groff is best known for 'Spring Awakening', 'Hair', 'Taking Woodstock' ... oh and Glee. He has an amazing voice! and he's got that good looking innocence that I like on Marius.
