If the Americans had chose to let the Soviets to join the battle at that point in time, Japan would have been divided up like Germany and Korea. It was not until Japan was convinced that America had an atomic arsenal, then they sued for surrender. Remember also Hitler and Stalin thought atomic weapons were science fiction of the Jews.

@Gurra88 The United States had two choices to win the war. Allow the USSR to join the war as an allied force, or use the atomic bomb. If the Americans had chose to let the Soviets to join the battle at that point in time, Japan would have been divided up like Germany and Korea. It was not until Japan was convinced that America had an atomic arsenal, then they sued for surrender. Remember also Hitler and Stalin thought atomic weapons were science fiction of the Jews.

No. A nuclear device being detonated inside of Earth's atmosphere was never necessary and should never have been carried out. An Allied ground invasion of Japan would have meant the death of over a million American soldiers and 12-20 million Japanese soldiers and civilians.

Japan refused to surrender initially, trying to force the U.S. into a decades long bloody land invasion, costing both sides potentially hundreds of thousands if not millions of casualties. The 2 atomic bombs demonstrated that if Japan did not surrender, they would methodically be anihilated one city at a time. They chose to surrender instead and saved both sides countless deaths. The few thousand that died to the bombs, although tragic, prevented many times more deaths in the long run.

Tragic deaths? dude the few thousand (90000) that died instantly by the bomb were lucky, as of today 1/4th million people was direcly or indirecly (genethically) phisically affected by the bombing.
And Pearl Harbor was an attack of supremacy, the biggest effort of Japan to demonstrate their power over the allies, they did not had the resources or army to restrain an ocupation in numbers of allies as high as you say.

Only children are innocent from culpability.
