Hey Superfonz.. Great demo of that beautiful guitar, those SD Pickups especially with coil taps make that guitar sing like a bird. to me I dont care where a guitar is manufactured, if you know how to touch it right, and it fits your feel and style.. thats all that matters. its a shame how many people miss out on some beautiful guitars because of their prejudices of where it was made. play it first, you may very well find that that guitar was made for you. thanks again for the great demo.
@stratomaster516 - Hi Stratomaster: Thanks for the compliment and well said comment. Not everyone can afford to pay $2000-$10,000+ for a guitar. There are some awesome guitars made today for a whole lot less that play and sound beautifully, plus look fantastic as well.
How thin is the neck on this guitar? I'm seriously considering buying this guitar but I'm wondering about the weight and feel of the neck compared to other Telecasters. Any help would be great.
That guitar is not particularly my cup of tea in terms of style I prefer strats but it looks good and sounds sweet. Great review man.......... you almost turned me into a tele man!
@blindness7 if ur a metal guy who LOVES Telecasters, then this is perfect! an affordable price, and seymour duncan is great! u can get this or the Jim Root's Telecaster as it hase EMG pick ups (metal based pick ups) with it. or u can get this, save up a little, purchase a pair of great EMGs and swap em out for the stock seymour. get the amber red its so sexy!
Really nice guitar, I have been wanting one. I have had a couple of "standard"
Telecasters...but they are waaay to "twangy." Strats don't give me what I'm looking for either, not "country" enough. I need an ax that I can do "Conway Twitty" one minute...and "kiick ass" rock & roll the next. With these pickups...this guitar should do the job.
@Superfonz88, hi, What's the difference between the "Fender Custom FMT HH" (the one you reviewed here) and the "Fender Special Edition Splated Maple" ? Thanks you.
I would say that this guitar will be able to do metal. But do I think it is best suited for it? Looks and sound tell me no. It just looks too pretty to play metal lol. And really as much as I like the Seymour Duncans, if you're looking to do metal and metal alone, go for EMG's. But for anything else stick with SD's.
Any guitar with the right pick-ups and amp be used to play metal; looks don't mean a thing. For example, my Highway One Tele with SD Hot Rails is just as capable of metal tones as my LP with EMG 81/85 pups. You cannot judge from this video because he is clearly not going for a metal sound, and is likely using a Fender amp on a low-gain setting. So yes . . . I am sure this guitar is amply capable of metal and even more so if hotter pups were installed.
this is like a super fast neck like super strats (not as wide) the best feature of the neck is having the ease of use together with the C shape neck.. definitely worth more than you paid for..
Wow! I love the look of this guitar, it so versatile in tone. But how durable is the push/pull tone nob and how much does it hum? I plan on buying one so I'm just doing some extra research. Help anyone?
@Hurricanex2 No Hum and push pull tone nob is plenty durable. That's why it get's such great reviews. Plus, what you're paying for this guitar, it's a steal.
i just got this same guitar and its amazing, and you never mentioned how good the guitar sounds with the tone rolled off. it really makes a difference
i love watching your video. and it adds more to cant wait to see my cherryburt to arrive (from US to Canada). its taking so long. good thing i have a strat on my pod x3 live.
Love the in-depth review. Good job! I am seriously considering this guitar. With this guitar being quite a departure from a classic tele can you still get any classic tele sounds?
Thanks Jim. I would say with the Seymour Pearly gates and '59 reverse wound humbuckers in this guitar, it is a bit different than the classic Tele sound. Although awesome.
You may still want a good classic Tele for the classic twang of a tele.
The bad thing about this guitar is, it does not have a Bigsby. A lot of my guitars had Bigsbys and I just got used to them.
No problem with tuning on this Tele. With the cast sealed tuners it stays in tune as good as any other guitar I own. And some cost a whole lot more than this Tele.
I also think this guitar is one of the best values today and may become a collector's item. A lot of players seem to agree. You can read their reviews on Harmany Central. The average is a 9.6.
Thanks! First I wanted a guitar with floyd rose tremolo, but then I realized that 99% of my playing I don't use the tremolo, so that's why I'll buy this gorgeous tele...
Yes, For the most part I'm playing straight with a little bit of reverb turn on in the Blues deluxe. But, as mentioned in the video during the "Let It Be" solo from 523 to 603 I kicked in an Ibenez Tube Screamer for a little bit more overdrive.
The Fender Blues Deluxe is also stock. It really starts to sound great when the volume is cranked up to at least 5. On this video the amp was turned down to below 2.
could i play heavy music on it because i want a tele with humbuckers because i collect tele and play nothing but teles and i want one for metal i cant afford the Jim root model.

@blindness7 if you watch "framing hanley webisode 3" their guitarist uses it, mightnt be your cup of tea but shows you some of it

@blindness7 My friend you are missinformed. The guitar does not play metal at all. It is the guitarist that plays the metal, regardless of the axe.

I don't see why not. Especially with these humbuckers in there.
Of course, depending on the sound you're looking for you may need the right amp and different distortion/overdrive pedals.
And if you want a beautiful clean sound this guitar will give a nice variety of tones.
Superfonz88 2 years ago
thanks and i have a wide variety of over drive and gain pedals and im using a line 6 so thank s i guess im getting this tele.cheers
