@ZaBadger actually, Douglas Adams explains at some point why he decided not to be an agnostic but an atheist. I read that in "The salmon of doubt", I guess that was one of the interviews, maybe even this one (I haven't listened yet, I will later ^^)

You fail to understand that we are limited by our physical bodies as to what we can observe. We haven't discovered life anywhere else because we have only been able to observe a very limited portion of or universe. That we still discover new forms of life on earth, it should be simple to understand we are not even capable of knowing if there is life on a planet we don't know even exists.

Scientists know the limits of our abilities, why don't you?

So in the 50's some scientists tried to create life from Carbon, N2 oxygent etc... they failed. If all humans worked to create life with all our current technology in 15 billion years it wouldnt happen. These are Statistics. You people want to argue about science yet make no references to any data only opinions. Evolution is all theory and has yet to prove how life came from the elements in the big bang. Missing link? Consider reading a bit of science history.

Science existed before the judaic religions and the muslims propelled science even more than the christians in the first major scientific revolution. And even IF science was invented by Christians, it's pretty strange why so many are so completely ignorant to it and why they willfully ignore all the evidence it produces.

Science has been around since humans have in the form of crop cultivation, etc, before it was named as such, and the ancient Greeks and Muslims among others, were making notable scientific discoveries in recognisable fields such as chemistry, physics, maths etc. before Christianity had been conceieved. Today we are expected to give respect to religion even if we do not believe it. Laws have been introduced that curb our freedom of speech and paint us as racist even if we are just giving no respect to a foreign religion. It is hard to respect a culture that promotes lies, clitoris removal, indoctrination, exploitation, executions for apostates, over population, denied education that conflicts with belief in unprovable things etc.

When your neighbours are suddenly all these things and demanding that you respect them you may suddenly realise that respect is exactly what they do not deserve. When a religion wants power through disrespecting another and preaches hatred should we still respect that culture?
