50s but you can see in his serve though n some of his other shots he could still beat some of the other top players.

ok casper your full of crap if you look federer is playing his hardest. he might be having an off day or something be he is still trying his best. i would love to see you try to get those shots that sampras is hitting. the fact is sampras could still beat most of the top pros that play. plus if you know anything about tennis you will know that in pros most of returning serve is a guess because of how fast it is coming. so federer is guessing wrong and getting beat with the serve and volley.

I get the feeling that Roger is just treading water here to make it a more exciting game. There are certainly shots he could have got so easy, but he didnt even try for them.

Maybe not wanting to win too easy.....but I cant see his pride letting Pete win.lol

come on dude he cudn't even touch half of those serves pete was blasting at him, and as for the volleys if u look he was running hard and trying to reach them but cudn't place his return properly. now i am not a sampras fan but at least give credit when its due

Roger is not even on 50% of his game here, he is not even trying. He is feeding to Pete each time Pete fails to hit the required shot.

An exibition match is all about playing it out for the public. Even Pete is saying Roger is a more complete player. Roger keeps the scores going even the whole way through it so the game is not over quickly. Pete was v/good in his day but he is 5 years retired. He has bursts of energy in his serve, But this is entertainment.

dude the point isnt whether roger is playing the shots right at sampras, more than 80% of sampras's points are from his serves which roger cannot read and is unable to return, plz look at some the aces and serves in this clip that sampras serves due u think roger at even his 100% cud return them!!!!!!!

Roger returns Roddick serves which are the fastest ever. Roger isnt even on 50% juice in these video clips. If Roger played his game, Pete wouldnt stand a chance in this video, you for get its an exibition match and its for entertainment not titles or rankings. This is a very laid back Federer in these matches, plus Roger loses or gives points on cue. Its very entertaining, but no way is this the real Federer playing.

dude come on r u seriously saying roddick is a better serve than sampras? it might be a little faster but sampras can direct and place his serve way better than roddick ever can, even ivansivic had a faster serve than sampras, however he cudnt place it as well as sampras cud n thus the difference in grandslams and titles between the two

When they were player here....sure. Pete is 5 years retired. Roddick and Federer are still playing today. Pete was the start of the big hitters, yes he has his GS, Federer is only 1 away from it. But in this show case. Roger was pacing himself.

Tell me one point that Roger could have gotten to. Just one point. Roger was struggling to return Sampras serve. That's why it is so close, not because Roger wasn't trying to play. He just couldn't read Pete's serve.

He is playing to Sampra's level, if he played to his own, he would have Sampras all over the place. Might have been a better game if Sampra's wasnt a 5 year retired older man, who has not been tourney fit for years.

@sathyaseelann Sampras is old XD verrrry old, by professional sports standards. By time you're in your mid thirties, your reflexes decay quite a bit, so reaction time isn't as good. Tennis, obviously, is allllll about reaction time--I think that Federer has to carry Sampras a bit, at THIS age, in order to make for a good match. If Fed went all out, no 36 year old is going to have a prayer. If Pete were in his prime, that'd be a different story. I'd love to see Sampras around 95 play Federer 06.

@Aaronthegreatest It looked more like Sampras was carrying Federer in that last match. Remember these courts are very very fast indoors, which heavily favor Sampras's game. If Connors can reach US Open semis at 40 years old, I believe 36 years old Sampras still has the game.
