  • Where can I get a copy of this ? This sounds more raw and energetic, than the official Alive II.

  • This is In Japan!!!

  • is that robert klein?

  • This brings back the memories. 14yrs old, so into Kiss that there was nothing else worth listening to, and driving my parents crazy playing it loud on a cheap cassette player. Hah!!

  • fuck amazing....I mean 'take me' live...who can say these guys can't play well or sing...this is 100% live and sounds GREAT.

  • Long Live Ace!!!

  • They've always been a stunning credit to all flash and no substance....

  • @JoshuaTaylor your not listening then

  • The audience is SITTING DOWN!!!!

  • @strikedn Yea. I watched a Beatles thing where they played Budokan too and they said that if the kids got up and started dancing or anything, they would be beaten by rubber hoses. Same thing in the Commentary by gene and Paul for this footage.

  • What a rip!!!! This is the rock,n roll over tour in japan.

  • This is the Rock and Roll Over Tour of Japan. I was an HBO concert video in 1979 too.

  • The (REAL) Ace + Paul what a team ....

SALu2!

  • HBO aired this in 1978!

  • Merry Kissmas, aka Christmas everybody

  • Extrem gut !

  • Merry KISS-MAS! 2011!

  • Pauls voice sounds real good....he's on top of his game here.

  • THIS ISNT EVEN ALIVE II, THIS IS THE ROCK AND ROLL OVER TOUR...DESTROYER OUTFITS AND LOVE GUN STAGE SET. ALIVE II THEY WORE THEIR LOVE GUN OUTFITS.

  • @80s90ssports no its not the love gun stage there were stairs on the destroyer stage too and the letters in the KISS were different

  • OOOOOVVVEEEERRRAAAATTTTEEEEEDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @rebb61 Yes, by millions of people. ;o)

  • not lost, it's on Kissology Box set One

  • Kiss es como una maturbacion, muy pocos lo admiten pero a todos le gusta.

  • This was even an HBO special! This is from the end of the Rock and Roll Over tour in the Budokan.

  • This was early 1977. Kiss was coming off the Rock-n-Roll Over tour and album. This was a live concert film from Tokyo,Japan. Just a few months prior to Love Gun.

  • This is the Live in Japan movie.

  • :44 a gene bass slide but his hands aren't even near his bass. what gives?

  • @noneyerbidness Good point.

  • This is not alive 2 audio not even close drum fills are diff vocals are diff no hello at the start. Any true kiss fan can tell u tht. Alive 2 doesnt hqve tom fills all the way thru Drc ...

  • This.isnt.alive 2 audio

  • must be japan. 3:22. Everybody is sitting down in the front row. I always heard Japanese audiences were more "respectful", and it used to weird some bands out how they just sat there. The bands that could actually see the crowds, anyway.

  • the audio is not what the video is showing...Gene does a double slide early in Detroit Rock City, but the video is showing him with no hands on the bass.

  • I grew up on this, great to see again.

  • Note how they start the riff slower and as peter's drum fill comes in, the tempo picks up - for the better.

  • Uh... I have a couple of bootleg KISS CD's that were recorded in Japan...And Take Me,is DEFINITELY in the setlist....Serious editing going on here fellow KISS fans........TRUST ME.

  • "Alive II" audio to the "'77 Budokan" show.

  • Ace misses note @ 2:58

  • @mrblackwell467 He probably wanted to explore polymodal possibilities....

  • no mamen a quien quieren engañar es BUDOKAN JAPON 2 abril 77

  • @Sandro44154 quien ha puesto lo contrario?

  • @Sandro44154 enserio tas pendenjo

  • You are right about the "Tomorow and tonight" song. Never played Live.

Hard luck woman thou`, were played 8 times live.

Beth was peter sitting alone on the scene. Singing after a tape. Would have been real bad if they had to do that in the studio. If it had been the 79` tour i would understood. At that point peter was slave to Heroin. Hope this helps! :)

  • maybe it is overdubs, but think about this. On nearly every you tube vid i watch, the sound dont match the the vid. So i think its tube thast messed it up somehow.

  • @MagillJohnM It definitely is overdubs ...... soundtrack from KISS ALIVE II recorded at the Los Angeles Forum August-September 1977 , and the video you see is from April 2nd 1977 Live at Budokan, Japan. They did a good job at over dubbing though...credit for that. I have this exact concert but not this soundtrack.

  • @drummerkid71 Actually,KISS Alive II was recorded at the San Diego Sports Arena.....Popular misconception...

  • @shrill99 Actually The inside sleeve of KISS ALIVE II says it was recorded 2 nights at the L.A. Forum ......

  • @shrill99 But if you read the book KISS Alive Forever,it says different.Just saying...Peace,fellow KISS fan!!!!

  • @drummerkid71 wrong this isnt even close too alive 2 try listing to it. .

Drc on alive doesnt hqve tom fills all the way thru for a,start this isnt even close to alive 2

  • Went to August 28 show with Cheap Trick opening. They did NOT play King of the Night Time World, Hard Luck Woman, or Tomorrow and Tonight. Anyone see the shows on the 26th or 27th ? I kept a list of the songs that night.

  • put your hands in my pocket, grab onto my rocket !!...classic !

  • Most of the live tracks on Alive II were recorded during the band's August 26--28 residency at the Los Angeles Forum while on the Love Gun tour. Beth and I Want You were from the Japanese live at Budokan and used on the finished Alive II.

  • @333loopy I read "I want you", "Beth" and a "tomorrow and tonight" and "Hard luck woman" were re-done in the studio with an audience overdub on final mix to give the live feel.

  • Shock me is from The Forum LA too. Because it was not on the playlist at Budokan.

  • This is obviously the 4-1-77 Japan show that everyone has on Kissology except it's got an alternate soundtrack on it; probably from one of the other Japan shows they did while over there. Sounds good, though.

  • the most obvious at 3.06

  • interesting that at times in Detroit Rock City, that you see Peter hit a cymbal but don't here the sound??? overdubs goin on for sure.

  • @Rokket or a microphone level not up.?

  • @pistache7 ....no...there's too many throughout the concert, and there's also times when Ace is, according to the sound, flipping the toggle switch on his guitar, but his hand is nowhere near it....another give away that there are indeed overdubs. With drums, especially cymbals, because they are so loud, even if a direct over head mic is off, other mics will pick up the sound, although it will be lower in volume, you'll still hear it.

  • Is this concert from Tokyo?

  • kiss alive 2 was originaly recorded during thier first tour of japan and was ment as a japanise only release but kiss and thier then producer eddie kramer for what ever reason deemed the recordings ununsable except for god of thunder and a couple of other songs the rest of the show was re recorded at the forum in los angleses , i dont know about anyone else but i thought this show for the most part sounded ten times better then alive 2

  • Some songs from this show(s) was supposed to be on the Alive II but for reason they cancel it

  • @vonroden: This is partially correct. Some of the songs from the Budokan '77 shows WERE recorded (but not necessarily included) for Alive II. Yet others were recorded during soundchecks (e.g "Tomorrow and Tonight", "Hard Luck Woman"). It's hard to tell what version is from where. The crowd noise from some of these (Budokan) shows is overdubbed on Alive II as well. The only song that I'm absolutely sure is from L.A. is "God Of Thunder". To be honest, the rest could be from anywhere.

  • Thats from 1st Japan tour. Is NOT KA2!
