say me Funny Japanese people, fight a few 1000kilometers2 of Kuril ilsland, kill himself if not come to the Universete. Hehehe. Evil smal Japanese(it like joke) tell me why are you need Kuril island. What would you will do this it? You are territirory small for life or what??
Sakhalin is my native island, Korsakov is my native town! And Inhabitants never will return Sakhalin in dirty hands of japanese! Give in with that never get even part of this loved me island!
Anton Chekhov did not discover Sakhalin, but he wrote an amazing account of life in the Russian penal colonies in the late 1800s. Not counting the native people who lived there, Sakhalin was actually first "discovered" by the Chinese Yuang dynasty as early as 1279. The first Japanese expedition to southern Sakhalin was sent by Lord Matsumae of Hokkaido in 1635. The first Russian exploration in the northern half of the island was the Cossack landing of 1644.
Since the mid 1600s, Sakhalin was explored and developed simultaneously by Russia in the north and Japan in the south. The Treaty of Shimoda officially divided the island in 1856 and after Russia drove out Japan through successive attacks, the entire island was ceded to Russia in the 1875 Treaty of St. Petersburg. After the Russo-Japanese war ended in 1905, the Treaty of Portsmouth once again officially divided the island, with the Japan getting south of the 50th parallel and the Russians north.
At the end of World War II, despite the non-aggression treaty between Russia and Japan, Russia invaded the southern, Japanese half of Sakhalin and took control of the entire island. With the Japanese defeat Russia again took control of the entire island under the Treaty of San Fransisco. As we can see, the political status of Sakhalin changed many times over the years and it has gone through periods of complete Japanese control, complete Russian control and control split at the 50th parallel.
Sakhalin is an amazing, beautiful island that has a long and rich history of both Russian and Japanese influence. It served to shape many issues of Russian-Japanese relations for hundreds of years. It is clearly part of Russia now, but it would be incorrect to dismiss the long history and influence Japan had over the island as well. The southern half of Sakhalin (Karafuto prefecture in Japanese) was very Japanese, and in 1943 it was incorporated into the official homeland (naichi) of Japan.
When World War II ended there were over 400,000 Japanese living in southern Sakhalin. From its early discovery by the Chinese and then the Japanese and Russians, Sakhalin was never "always part of Japan" or "always part of Russia". It was an amazing mix of two very different and unique cultures exploring and colonizing the island in their own unique way. Sakhalin is so interesting in that it really was the crossroads of two powerful countries and very different cultures.
dont fucking tell me to go to hospital jap! Im not saying it wasnt japanese territory. I said it was for some period, but it doesnt mean its japanese. you japs have no rights of our island. you made our race instinct, so just be quiet.
And soviet union couldnt do anything about this genocide because all troops were needed on western front to fight nazis. Then, when WW2 ended, troops came in and liberated the island. Soooo I dont think if japan ruled southern sakhalin for about 30 years, it makes the island japanese. BUT one of the kuril islands IS supposed to be japanese, but russians took it.
ok wtf do you mean by "Japan attacks and is not doing the Soviet Union"???
The southern Sakahlin had never been japanese. Japanase claimed it as their territory for no reason. Ask any european, american, russian. I am from family of native people of sakhalin. My grandfather told me how japanese killed almost all of natives and russians plus brought south koreans to works as slaves (by the way, this is why you may see lots of russian koreans in the region today).
ok hows sakhalin japanese? Antom Chehov discovered it in 1800s and native people are called Nanti(same race as people of siberia). Its been russian territory ever since. Then japanese attacked east russia like in 1920s and controlled most of it until end of WW2. Then russians took it back. Now how is it japanes? its as much japanese as african

South Sakhalin was Japanese territory for a certain period of time.
Cannot you study?

You are foolish.
Japan attacks and is not doing the Soviet Union.
South Sakhalin has been decided a Japanese territory to it by the
Portsmouth agreement.
The Soviet Union is not participating by the San Francisco agreement.
Therefore, it is a Japanese territory.
Russia and the Soviet Union are different at all in it.
It is another country.
Therefore, there is no authority in Russia.
