All Americans should watch this to hear the depths that the Bush administration sank. Hopefully it will show the international community that not all in power in the Bush administration and government are creeps. I commend those who worked against Chaney and Addington and their paranoid "war on terror". I urge the legal community to investigate and bring to justice those who condoned and ordered torture and renditions.
"The US has never practiced torture before" that speaks volumes about the level of indoctrination even investigative reporters have. The US has the Mecca of torture training and methodology in the former School of the Americas now WHINSEC... and the American public is oblivious to it. If people had the least idea of how much blood the US has shed abroad directly and indirectly they would revolt but somehow I don't see it happening
Give the benefit of the doubt to King and court, ascribe their motives, criminal and anti-constituional(illegal)actions, despite the evidence, to zealotry. Apologetically, the author decries the crimes, but excuses the criminals' culpability. "These people don't see themselves as criminals...at least not in their own mind (sic)". Is that not the same defense for every tyrant? Do we forgive Hitler because he saw himself as doing the (in his mind) righteous work of purifying the German nation?
Great hour !
I am going out and buying this book asap.
America stays losing unless they deal with their war crimes.
