The Crusade is my favorite Trivium album, it is incredibly thrashy. I was quite surprised when I learned that somehow it got a bad rap from "critics"? What lol? Amazing album.

This album wasn't as mind blowing as the the 2 before it but Trivium did push there instrumental creativeness to their limits with the crusade .. brilliant music and brilliant lyrics just needed more screaming imo :)

When this album came out, I HATED it with a fiery passion. And as of like, this moment, I'm actually kind of liking it. Trivium's ST. Anger possibly? It was so talked up and you gotta admit, musically, Ascendency blew it out of the fucking water.

The songs themselves are good. I liked Detonation when I first heard it, I just pretended it wasn't Trivium lol.

Lyrical masterpiece from Metallica. Like the Crusade, hated it when it came out. But you learn to give it another shot and appreciate it for the value of what the artist was going for.

To me, This sounds nothing like Metallica. It sounds like TRIVIUM. I don't hear any Hetfield in Heafy's voice, it sounds like Heafy. Lars Ulrich only wishes he could drum like that. Kirk Hammett couldn't even play like that in his dreams. Of course it sounds thrashy, but just because a band has thrash influence doesn't mean that they sound like Metallica. A few of the songs on The Crusade have a Metallica flavor but only a couple parts resemble them. I love Metallica but Trivium is much better.
