  • the first couple chords of your theme song sounds like Jaded from Aerosmith :D

  • giving me inspiration... I too love retro kitchen stuff.. especially glass and pyrex because plastic is not good for food

  • who you gonna call ghostbusters !!! love ya

  • Meg, come live with me <3 Lol, you're so creative. Love this idea, I think I'm going to use it in my room instead ^.^

  • Meg: I love every single one of your tutorials! They always inspire me to do more DIY projects!

BUT: by now, I have seen every tutorial about a thousand times and I need moooooooore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WANT YOUR TUTORIALS BACK !!!!!

  • Wow! I luv it!!! U really helped me with this tutorial. I could not figure out how to do this. Your this video was so informative, I think I know what to do now. :-)

Have a wonderful week and Thank-U!

  • Great ideas ! Thanks so much for sharing !

  • i luv it great idea meg

  • yeah i would use this for my bathroom instead ;)

  • @snipeses they have a tutorial for the mirror!

  • i love it meg so cool!!!

  • love the mirror, too, btw!

  • A quick way we found while living in military housing was to use a fabric print we liked, dip it in liquid starch, then place and smooth on the area you want covered. When it came time to move the fabric peeled off without damage to the wall and a wet sponge cleaned up any residue left over. Quick, cheap, easy, and clean!

  • This is awesum makes your lil kitchen look bigger...creates more lite through out the space...LOVES IT! Im Definitely using this idea! Thanx

  • bathroom*

  • looks like a bathrom

  • makes it look cluttered

  • cute

  • looks the bathroom but nice......

  • looks cute, but its not practical.

  • CUTE!!!

  • This is very practical if you NEVER use the sink. Otherwise, imagine not only having to wash up, but having to clean the f-ing mirror EVERYtime if you don't want it looking gunky!

  • shellac is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM Spakling!

  • i just watched the movie "mirrors" so i wouldnt do that in my kitchen.... lol but it looks cool.

  • True that. I would use plain white tiles and splash paint on em outside before i put em in.

  • chill people, its stupid to argue in comments. c'mon people, get a life.

  • it kinda looks like a bathroom more than it does a kitchen but hey its better than b4 i can tell u that much

  • It's so cool that Threadbanger is bringing in new techniques each week. I love it!

  • I like that allot thanks thread banger ^_^!

  • IT'S spackel! anyway great idea to lighten ur kitchen!

  • It looks fantastic though to be honest the mirrored tiles and a sink do make me think bathroom instead of kitchen.

I really didn't like the ruler one though. not really my taste.

  • This is a really cool idea. I'd been thinking about adding something to the wall above my sink for ages. Sadly, I can't add anything perm. This totally inspired me though and I'm gonna do a contact paper image on the wall. Thanks so much for the inspiration, keep up the rad work!

    xoxo

  • Great idea!!! You are full of different ideas and please know that your generosity in sharing your creativity is MUCH appreciated =). For those that are impossible to please... ehem... please remember the difference between sharing your opinion and being rude. No one's saying you have to like her ideas, but you can always add to them or offer other suggestions (and not accompany them with negative comments). Creativity should welcome new creativity, not bash it.

  • Some of you are impossible to please. I offered several alternatives if mirrors aren't for you. We love it! They look fantastic in our apartment and that's why we did it. YOU can do vintage tiles as I said, but this is the way for us. It makes the kitchen look so much bigger and the up-keep is minimal. This show is about individual style, so choose what you want for your place.

  • I think the mirrors look great -- and DIY is all about making things your own! That's why it's do it yourself ;) Thanks for all of the really helpful and inspiring videos. Can't tell you how many ideas I've worked up just from watching them. :D

  • i think it looks great, too! i love watching these videos. they inspire me and my boyfriend always comes home to a new addition or surprise thanks to you! ha.

  • @ThreadBanger how have I not found you before!!!!!!

  • GHOSTBUSTERS xD !

  • LOVE the vintage dishes! I want some!

  • 0:23

AND GOD SAID: "Let there be dishwashers." lol

  • lol have fun doing more cleaning

    he he

  • i like the ruller idea.

  • Mirrors? Good luck with that. Hope you stock up on windex and newspapers. Vinyl floor tiles makes a better choice for backsplash and you can cut that stuff with a scissors.

  • great! now not only you have to do the dishes but also wash more mirrors!!!

  • Yeah!

Clean it every time they get a little dirty water on it, with dish water! :D

  • hey meg! great show and love the new intro. you always show us viewers other peeps cool pads but you never show yours!!! I'm dieing for a cribs episode of you house. it looks so cool!

  • hotdog

  • Nice t-shirt! : )

I would like to use glass mirrors in our kitchen, but with my family they would crack it. So we just went with ceramic tiles.

  • about how much is the glass in total?

  • NICe!

  • I want that t-shirt! Too Cute!

    Love your channel !

    Nice video, thanks for sharing.

I'm gonna try with but with 2 sided tape since I'm a renter, so that way it will be easy for me to take down when I move but in the mean time I'll have a nice looking back splash as well :)

    Thanks for the idea :)

  • cute!

i'm thinking maybe the mirror gives the apartment depth?

  • Easy idea, looks more like a bathroom though.

  • i agree

  • Ew I don't like that maybe for a bathroom.

  • i did this exact same thing like 2 months ago, and it was my moms idea. i live in an apartment where we can't paint or tile or anything, i just hung an over sized mirror behind my sink. same purpose, but if you get tired of it, you can just take it down. it doesn't get that dirty, and it makes my kitchen look a lot bigger. i'd do this if i could, though! great minds think alike :]

  • Great work Meg!, might I suggest that if the glass cutting fails, that the cracked mirror mosaic look is great, you could variate the cracked with the well cut pieces, because it's not so easy to cut glass.

Thank you i love Threadbanger and you all have a great info and personalities!

  • I have a bag of 1 1/2 inch wooden dowel which I DIDN'T use in a diaper cake. What can I make with them?

  • You should do something with this white door.

  • You all must live in apartments or something because most of the time the sink is next to the window. This is a nice idea though, not that sure about the mirrors however, but heck, it's your apartment ;)

  • Sweet! Looks so good, and I had no idea I could actually cut glass on my own.

  • hahahah it looks like a bathroom now :P but u can watch urself watching dishes is cool me LIKEY :)

  • I like it-- The mirrors really brighten it up! Altho now it'll look like you have twice as many dishes to wash!! ;)

  • Isn't that not the point of a backsplash at all? I mean, those mirrors are gonna get really dirty and look gross....

  • Meg...is it not possible for your face to look straight into the camera instead of tilting all the way to the side? It's really bugging me...since the first video you made. Please, just for once...

  • Aw man, now it's bothering me too!

  • You know what ezits66, no. I am going to be myself and talk the way I want. That is rude and weird, so either take me the way I am, or backtheeffoff.

    -Meg

  • I'm glad you said no, because I like you just the way you are. And I think your head tilt is cute. Anyhow, I love this idea, I love the vintage style you've got going on especially your dishes. I've got my own little collection of vintage dishes. Thanks, Meg, for all your fantastic tips and decor ideas. You're fantabuolis!

  • it is true though that you do have certain mannerisms that some may find annoying, such as tilting your head and over-enunciating. i think telling your viewers to f- off is unprofessional.

  • she reminds me of kirsten dunst, but her mannerisms remind me of drew barrymore.

  • ghostbusters!

  • Keep up the good work Meg!

  • Thanks so much missypoopoo! xox, Meg

  • just looks like a bathroom sink now

  • i love the idea of the whole project, though i wasn't too crazy about the mirror. i love your vintage dishes meg XD

  • Cock.

  • Um yea, Mirror tiles do not take well to moisture and humidity. Everytime you splash in your sink you'll have to windex it. I think ceramic tile wouldve been more practical, even if you did a ceramic mosaic with pieces of mirror in it, that wouldve made it less bright and bathroomy looking. Perhaps a better under the counter light fixture?

  • okay that's lame. i hate being forced to sit through advertisements. i don't have life energy to waste on that crap. i don't mind them being in the video but i at least like having the choice....

  • The ads are how they keep having guests and things on the show. If you REALLY can't stand that 30 seconds of an advertisement in the beginning of the video, then click the pause button and do something else for 30 seconds and then fast forward through it. Either that, or chill out!

  • I didn't mind the ones they had in the middle when i could skip past them if it wasn't something i was interested in. it's the ones that i'm forced to watch before a video that irks me.

  • I'd love to do that in My powder room where My sink is.

    but not in my kitchen

  • what a great idea Meg. Not only did it make your kitchen look great, it even made that small space appear larger.

  • Failed again meg.

WOW, you turned your kitchen into a tacky looking bathroom. The unbelievably bright florescent lighting is a great touch really gives it that restroom glow.

Perhaps to spiffy it up even more u could add a TP holder and a cup full of toothbrushes.

  • thats not shellac

  • You are correct!

  • dude what's up w/ these stupid ads. threadbanger corporate planned BS.

  • these stupid ads is how they keep making the show. You think the fabrics they use, the people the have on the show, the activities are all free or cheap? No. So stop whinning and just handle them, if not unsubscribe. Simple as that.

  • threadbanger's premise is a punk-rock do-it-yourself show, but uses corporate ads that they force their viewers to watch in order to make more money. stop pretending.

  • they don't force viewers to watch nothing of the sorts. Its not like other websites that stop the video completely so you HAVE to watch it, all you gotta do is skip the add and go a little forward. Simple. Geez, you just love making shit difficult to complain dont you? Are you still on your period or something?

  • grammar?

  • Theres nothing misspelled. But thanks for proving that you're an idiot by only focusing on the grammar and not the message. And with that a bid you farewell. Now take some midol and quit your bitching.

  • Lastly, "a bid you farewell" should be "I bid you farewell." Spelling is not the only component of grammar.

  • Again "thanks for proving that you're an idiot by only focusing on the grammar and not the message." You just love keep proving it, don't you? Seriously, the message was that they have ads to keep making their videos but you love bitching about everything, even the way I type my English (which is my second language btw) as though its an essay for a class. Now why dont you do us all a favor and get a fucking life. Me comprendes o vas a hablar mireda de como escribo mi Español? Et mon Français?

  • yeah I understand Spanish and a little French. and you misspelled mierda.

  • Thats not a misspelling, that's a typo, get it right. Oh and you want you get technical in grammar?

"Yeah, I understand Spanish and a little French. You also misspelled "mierda" Dumb fuck.

  • Comment removed

  • wow nice idea.

  • WoW i really like it! great job =)

  • im kinda super hardcore jealous of how handy you are meg D:

i would love to live walking distance from you!!! haha you could so help me spice up my place

    <3

  • very cute.... i love it

  • I would hate to watch myself wash dishes....I bet I would just look pissed!

  • I don't understand the negative comments. The space has been updated, the mirrors bring in light to the area and open it up creating a look of space and much brighter and cheery. So much better than staring at a blank wall. Great job Meg :)

  • couldnt agree more, mirrors also bring a huge illusion of extra room, i quite frankly love it

  • at my house, we have the same granite we used on counter top as our backsplash.

  • OMG, I thought I was in the restroom, Oooh, it's the kitchen with a bathroom look.

  • so when the sink is full..it would look like twice as much....

I like the tile and fabric ideas

  • that was so cute!haha and the turn in date (oct. 19) is my 15th birthdayy!! XD

  • theres a BOY in the video!

  • coool

  • come to my house I need ghost busters... :)

  • I was thinking the whole time, those mirrors are just another thing to clean :P

  • I actually like doing dishes.

  • dreadful....

  • :-) nice work, thank you!

  • maybe this would work better in the bathroom

  • It's "spackle", not "shellac".

Please give more projects for renters who can't mastic things on permanently.

  • Yea rent friendly deco projects would be ideal with alot of young people on youtube. Renters need alot of help with design, because they are so restricted. I once lived in an apartment where they wouldnt let me remove the 1970's window treatments.

  • not a fan of the 80's mirrors but like the idea, thanks meg!

  • Where's the level of difficulty??? If I had to guess I would say DEATH! lol looks grr8 tho

    =D

  • Yea, cutting glass gives me that spine tingling nails on a chalk board kinda feeling. I'd be afraid of someone trying this at home and losing a finger and posting the bloody tragedy on a vlog comment.

  • but before you start cocking..

  • That's "caulking", not "cocking".

  • i am aware..i thought it was funny.

  • mmmmmmmmm lead paint

  • AWESOME SHIRT!

  • hey Meg, i love the shirt you've got on!

  • oh GOD, like I'd want to watch myself wash dishes. I'm a haggard monster by the time i get to clean up.

but, i envy her ambition and drive. I never get anything done, ever. seriously

  • HAHAHA!!!! i've always had this giant mirror above my sink, my mom hung it there when i moved in, and i totally agree. i just keep going, "finish the dishes then you can take a bath. just don't look up until you're done.." hahaha.

  • Its not shellac! Its Spackling it even says so on the label on the tub you re getting it from. Shellac is what you use after you paint a piece of furniture

  • Umm, shellac is a varnish (sometimes used as a sealer) that is used BEFORE you paint it.

  • But is that what she is using in the video? No its not

  • I like it but I don't like the light, it ruins it. They should've put a softer light.

  • It does look kind of bathroomy ...

However she did say "you can use tin tiles" etc so its all about making it your own. You dont have to do exactly what SHE does. Meg just gives you ideas!

  • wow this is cool

  • looks too much like a bathroom..maybe frosted mirrors would have looked better

  • Thats pretty cool but i wouldnt use mirrors just because it makes ur kitchen look like a bathroom.

  • how about a tour of your house? i would love to see it all at once!

  • I think it is neat. I need some kind of back splash idea beside my stove. The white wall is looking greasy. My sink has a window above it, very little wall space.

  • I wouldnt do mirrors....to dirty to fast, you'd go througha bottle of windew so fast, lol.

  • not all of us have a bunch of money

  • ads at the beginning? sellout?

  • I think it sort of makes your Kitchen look like a Bathroom, but its still a cute idea! I love the idea with the vintage rulers!!!

  • I thought so too.

  • i think if it had some cute border on the mirror, I think it would look less sterile..

  • I want that shirt!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you guys have had horrible ideas here lately.... Mirrors? You're going to spend more time clean those than doing the dishes. YUCK!

  • I agree, but it looks so much better. they shouldve done tile or something.

  • I'd rather wipe down a mirror than wash a dish...

  • absolutely horrid ideas.

  • I think I just watch the videos because I love meg hahaha :P she's awsome

  • just saying whats wrong with a dishwasher

  • I know

  • most older apartments don't have one

  • does she mean shellac or Spackle?

  • Its spackle I have never heard of shellac being used to seal a wall

  • yeah, shellac is a clear shiney sealer stuff

  • This is so beautiful!

  • it looks like a bathroom. still cute

  • thats what i thought :)

  • beautiful

  • Love it!

  • Holy shit, this is incredible. And that opening was classic.

  • 5 stttiiiiizzzles fo shizelzz

  • luvs it

  • when i was cooking this morning i was thinking of this EXACT idea, how did you all know?!! haha

  • Glad we're on the same page! xo, Meg
