  • That is one gorgeous hot rod. You're fling it and I'm not. GOD! I hate you! :-P Where were you guys flying out of??

  • I loooove the 400ls. I fly a beech b100 also with garretts

  • This one got To be top over 350 knots with those props installed?

  • @pushitgently001p

5 blades are for better climb and sound. They don't affect speed.

  • Hey, nice video. I was wondering, what is the takeoff roll at max takeoff weight?

  • @xavier2511 ...1000' -1300' where we are located...it gets up in a hurry

  • @seekbowhunter 1000' -1300' wow that is short thanks for the reply.

  • Is this aircraft based in MT I really hope I get to see it

  • at 3.20...what is that red warning light?

  • did you often have deers on the track??

  • Why did the Master Alarm sound at 1:34 short after take off?

  • @Lettenbichler Thats not the master alarm. Thats the radar altimeter which was set from the previous landing.

  • @bman2101 now it makes sense :-) Thank you

  • Wow! 380 kts. thats smokin for a propjet.

  • great video of an excellent aircraft, thanks

  • @B757ak: it means "No deer"

  • No gear?? Nice words 4 sec bevore landing

  • @B757ak you miss understood the words...No Deer is what was said (:

  • @seekbowhunter Sorry, you're right.

  • @seekbowhunter Hi, do you have any more videos of the 400ls? If you do please upload, its the best turboprop.

  • @B757ak I agreed. before landing checklist is an optional....until "no gear" will be 4 seconds AFTER landing

  • Thx 4 that. I've always wondered that. The Piaggio Avanti II has about the same weights with engines thermodynamically rated at 1630 shp and flat rated at 850 shp each, 85% the power of the Cheyenne 400! I think the Avanti II is derated the same way. Even though the Avanti II can cruise faster, the Cheyenne 400 seems 2 have a better take off n climb performance. Thx 4 the info.

  • OH ok, so the 1650 hp can't b reached?

  • Great video

  • Can this aircraft produce 1650 shp each engine but flat rated at 1000 shp or is 1000 shp the maximum it can produce each engine? Thx.

  • no it is flat rated to 1000....it could go 1650

    otherwise.

  • Ok, does this mean if u have the power levers set to maximum, it will produce 1650 shp each engine?

  • OMG Im inlove with this aircraft!! does it require type rating? cuz I read the Max gorss weight is 12050, I want to fly it some info please....!

  • That stand of wood about 500 ft inside of end of runway. That's awfully close. Seems like that could be considered a hazard. Also, at flight level 410, is that the recommended cruise altitude or is that the ceiling for this particular aircraft?

  • The stand of timber you are referring to isnt that big a deal...it is the deer that can be a problem...fl410 is the ceiling

  • Excellent video and nice Cheyenne 400LS!

  • Thank you for Sharing this!!! I LOVE this aircraft!!!!

  • I prefer the cheyenne ii for it's takeoff and landing distances. At least in FSX I do :P

  • @lolman5921 The Cheyenne 400LS is the king of short field takeoff and landing distances. It can be stopped in under 1000 feet.

  • It's possible that it might produce 1650 hp 4 a short tjime. Can u tell me what the take off feels like? I'd love 2 know, thx. I've always wanted 2 fly in 1 of these.

  • It will excellerate extremely quick to tire rotation....it will get to altitude (up to 41000) in no time! many times ATC is shocked when they ask us to quickly get to altitude...they don't expect to see us there so quickly....very smooth aircraft...will land about as quick as take off too!

  • Ok thx, I've always wondered this. I have heard it's derated to 1000 shp rather than flat rated to 1000 shp. It still has around the power/weight ratio as a Saab 2000 though, which goes from 0-100 km/h in about 13 secs! Probably the rotation speed of the Cheyenne. It sounds similar 2 the Jetstream 41 but the Jetstream in continuously rated at around 1650 shp.

  • Correction, 0-180 km/h in about 13 seconds which I think is about the rotation speed of the Cheyenne. This aircraft still seems very fuel efficient for 1000 shp.

  • I am no expert on the mechanics of this machine, but know they are d rated too 1000hp, so I would imagine that is what you get out of them. Kind of seems like a shame that you are only using 70 percent. It makes for a long life engine though. The owner and the mechanic are the experts on the details of this bird. I am just lucky and blessed to sit in the right seat. (:

I do like that one can go 400 and get to a height of flight level 410...makes for a quick trip.

  • Nice video! I've got a few Jetstream 41 flight videos that I've had for years n I often pretend that they're Cheyenne 400 videos cause of engine similarity cause I didn't have any Cheyenne videos. This video is even more similar 2 a Jetstream 41 one due 2 both aircraft having 5 blade props. Can this aircraft still produce 1650 shp 4 take off even though it's flat rated at 1000 shp? Thx, great video.

  • The higher powered and significantly faster PA-42-1000 is basically a PA-42-720 with far more powerful 745kW (1000hp) Garrett TPE331 turboprops driving four blade, 106-inch diameter, composite-construction Dowty Rotol propellers. It's definitely got 2 legs up on the BAe J41 in climb performance.
