I don't like horse slaughter, but you can not save all of them. I wonder what goes through the rescue groups heads when they go to an auction, when they have to pic and chose who they can save and who they can't. Who is gonna take care of those thousands of horses that are slaughtered you gonna put them in your back yard. Lets put them in downtowns across the country, some idiots shouldn't own a horse but they do. I don't agree with slaughtering it should be monitered with least stress.

I'm 32 and I've wanted a horse I think since I was still in my mothers womb. I am very poor and unfortunately will probably never be able to afford to move to the country, much less ever own one of these beautiful creatures. Ordinarily one slaughters old horses, sells them for sausage and the sausage tastes happy: atmospheric and warm, while ordinary cow sausage tastes depressed: kind of dim, uninterested or foggy. Is it more humane for a horse to live and suffer their whole lives or even starve to death than to endure a few hours before being put out of their misery. I think Humans are the worst species in the world. I would do anything to save these animals. Even die for them... Humans are like parasites or aliens coming to destroy earth. I'm 32 and I've wanted a horse I think since I was still in my mothers womb. I am very poor and unfortunately will probably never be able to afford to move to the country, much less ever own one of these beautiful creatures. I don't understand why people like this can own one of these wonderful animals and treat them like this, while I would have cherished any one of the horses in this video could I ever have been blessed to own one of them. Ordinarily one slaughters old horses, sells them for sausage and the sausage tastes happy: atmospheric and warm, while ordinary cow sausage tastes depressed: kind of dim, uninterested or foggy. So probably those who eat horse meat wanna support a happy life for the horses, kind of vote against the more cruel ways to treat cows etc.

One more thing most of the pics of the slaughter are from Mexican slaughter houses the US has stricter rules about how a horse is slaughtered. And the horse shown in 2:09 his feet are not bad those are walking horse pads that is how they are suppost to look. Duh!

Also I had a old horse that got in bad health during a hard winter and instead of letting him sit there in the freezing cold and die a slow death I shot him so he could finally rest in peace now dont get me wrong ppl I loved this horse I grew up with this horse but it was more humane to go ahead and put him out of his misery than to let him die a slow death.

Most of the horses that go to the killers are blind sick and crippled. Is it more humane for a horse to live and suffer their whole lives or even starve to death than to endure a few hours before being put out of their misery. The killers are a good way to rid the world of the junk that is keepin the horse market down.

Horses do not have the opportunities or rights that humans do. They were put on earth to serve man. When a cow is blind or crippled and can't raise a calf they aren't "lived with" or "dealt with" Why waste time and money on a horse that isn't going to get any better. I suppose that it is sooooooooo rude to eat beef as well.
I make my living with horses and this market is the worst that it has ever been and it will never get any better unless the killers are opened back up in AMERICA!!!!!!!!

the next horse im getting will be a rescued slaughter horse for a 4h project horse, even though the horses you see going to slaughter look really very horrible their eyes portrait all the ferocity of their courage and will to live. You can see in their eyes the beauty they once were- and could be again with a little help. Thanks alot for this vid.

Why are we letting these people keep these poor horses in their pasture to starve and what kind of life will they have if they are turned loose.
