America is the best nation on earth, they have kept us from war for over 60 years. God bless America. Get behind Ameica's shield, they will protect us all. Britain was the greatest empire on earth, Americas has taken over from us. Most of you live in peace, thank America and thier soldiers for that, they put thier life on the line every day.
americans have the right to protest anything they want to. it's in our beautiful constitution. however, their actions that day changed nothing and proved nothing aside from tallying up another arrest number on their list. new congress...same war. new president...increased troops in afghanistan. congratulations. you made the enemy's network TV show.
ive lost 3 good friends and 1 cousin to this pointless conflict in the east ..and for some prick who has no idea how the morale in the military is to try and speak for him saying that a soldier wants to go back is just ignorant, you ask any man whos been in the front lines gettin ieds and 10 year olds shootin at you and tell me you want to go back..its hard to fight when you dont know what your fighting for..i got a good guess were in iran in the next 5 years. nwo here we come
Thank you, Al Jazeera, for making and posting this documentary. I especially appreciate what Geoffrey Millard says. I'm an American who left the country when Bush was reelected because I couldn't bear sending taxes to a government who used it to wage pointless wars. I don't know if I'll ever be able to go back.
You are kidding? You Came to that conclusion that most military personal do not want to be in Iraq and disagree with what we are doing, because you saw a couple of Ex- military personal say that on Al Jazeera? What do you think Al Jazeera is going to play?.. videos of the soldiers who have reenlisted or want to go back even after loosing a limb? Hell no! They are not going to broadcast videos that say anything positive about the U.S. or its military!
It's sickening that those police personal don't stand up as well, they would be protesting too if some one close to them died in this fake fucked up war. Bush is a war criminal and im surprised that the UN has not arrested him
Well I think the Gulf war with Iraq was justified because Iraq invaded our ally Kuwait. The Iraq war however is not justified and is in fact a horrible illegal war. So I both agree and disagree with you.
Exactly ...I have been watching this for 6 minutes now and see U.S. soldiers shooting machine guns and in tanks but have yet to see a single Muslim shooting a gun, blowing up a shopping area full of women and children, or holding the head of a US soldier by his hair after he just beheaded Him or mutilating their bodies and setting them on fire...which these Muslim bastards have done many, many times to soldiers from any nation and to civilians.
What do you expect them to do after being invaded? They should fucking slaughter every man that touches their land that they don't want there. Every country has that right and it shouldn't be taken away simply because of a more powerful presence.
A car or suicide bomb in a shopping center doesn't pick who it slaughters! It kills civilian and military Iraqi Men, Women, Children!check the news..the terrorist are beheading Iraqi civilians in the streets now to instill fear into civilians.
I don't think unbridled "slaughter" is a right, but defending themselves is a right and is why I understand and don't condemn the Sadr militia. It's a tough case to think about when those who are being "slaughtered" are Americans that could be people you know. I disagree with us being there, but I also disagree with killing in general. Most of these poor soldiers disagree with why they're there, too-but they can't get out of the army once they're in it.
"Most of these poor soldiers disagree with why they're there" I would like to know how you came to this conclusion? I have yet to see a study or a poll taken in Iraq of the U.S. military and what they have to say about being in Iraq, what they are doing, how they feel about it etc..Unless a non biased study exist to determine these things, then to say they disagree with why they are there is not an accurate statement.
I have seen a number of videos on stations like Al Jazeera interviewing soldiers and talking about how they feel about the war in Iraq. I haven't seen a definitive poll, although it may well exist, but I haven't heard of too many soldiers who have come back and said "wow, we're really kicking ass over there and making headway, this was so worth it" the ones I hear about and have spoken to come back disillusioned and depressed and say there's no military solution.
In fiscal 2007, the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps all exceeded their active-duty enlisted recruiting goals, and only the Air Force fell slightly short of its goal on the reserve component side recruitment levels for 2007!The Navy Army Air Force and Marines all exceeded not just new recruit but their reenlistment goals for 2007 and are on track to do the same in 2008. How can this be? according to you, they wouldn't join if they knew we would be in Iraq?
Yes, but many joined the army before the war in Iraq was even an idea. And many joined because they were young, from some town in podunk America and thought they had no other good options. I agree we need a military, but it's hard to reconcile who will fight in it-if people form small towns were given more opportunities to be productive, there may not be so many who would choose to join the army-what would we do then?
Funny how the only news agency that covers the war protests is an Arab news agency. But all the so-called "respectable" new agencies just ignore them.
That is why Al-Jazeera is the most recognized name in the news.
Another thing-I don't believe we should have gotten into this war in the first place, but I believe it is immoral to leave Iraq in the mess we have put it in. Are Iraqi citizens not deserving of their human rights? Because that's what we'd deny them if we leave. Civil war and terrorism would rake the country if we were just to pull out our troops right now. Atrocities far worse than Americans at home could ever imagine or have to face themselves would take place.
Things aren't simply going to get better because we stay there and continue the practices that created this problem in the first place. We are denying them rights by not allowing them to govern themselves, that is one of the most basic rights we have.
timg445-"They should fucking slaughter every man that touches their land that they don't want there" I guess any Americans that do not want illegals on U.S. land have the right to go out and slaughter them! The Iraqi government has not asked the U.S. to leave! If we were to leave, the place would be in total chaos... the terrorist would control Iraq and the flow of much of the worlds oil!All nations use oil!The terrorist know this and the damage they could cause to world economies!
I agree. In fact, Iraqi politicians are very scared the US will leave right away-they are stuck between a rock and a hard place-they want the U.S. to stay for security, but hate that they are not able to govern themselves and manage their own security-they want assurances we won't be here in the long run, as well as assurances that we will be here in the short run until their police and security forces are able to control what's happening on the ground by themselves.
We are trying to let them govern themselves but the political groups in government have not yet learned how to work together, so not much is getting done. I agree we've meddled in the wrong way in their government, but we haven't created the mistrust between parties-that is something we should be working on-national reconciliation. Luckily some NGOs are working on track two dialogues to assist in national reconciliation, and are making some head way-albeit slowly due to trust issues.
This side does deserve to be heard, but it also needs to be educated. I don't like the war either, but like it or not, the surge has made dramatic changes in security on the ground in Iraq according to my Iraqi friends. Without it, the help of some grassroots Iraqi efforts to fight Al Qaeda, such as the tribal Awakening council, may not have been inspired enough to get off the ground.
@tiberius420 I might be correct and there is no afterlife. If so, maybe we should play it safe and make those fucktards pay now, instead of hoping a god deals with it?
who ever said that americans are not good people?i see many!its the congress, the zionist have aipac , what do arabians we have?
well now we have al jaseera! so atleast we can stop lying to each other! when are we going to have a real parliment in jordan, saudi , the gulf states , real parliments that have full power? kiwait , abu dabi, qatar are their leaderes Arabian or zionist? is bush the only one who can do regime change?or just change the regimes that treaten zionist or going to be?
Its very true as you can see Richard Perle, Wolfowitz, Douglas Fieth, David Frum..they are ALL ADVISORS to the Bush Admin..and they are all ZIONISTS..put two and two together and you can easily solve that puzzle. The arab rulers always kiss up to the US government because that is the only way they can keep their power..
Bush and his Dick should be put to court, and face a Judgment for conspiracy of killing all those US soldiers. What did they died for??? Oil, Busniss contract for Dick & Ramsfelt, or was it a zionist Conspiracy to Use americans to secure or clear out range for Israel.
Bush started 2 wars and had American ready for an economic depression. What incompetence.
