Shawn Hurley is quickly gaining esteem as an awesome drummer in my eyes. JJ was good for the pop stuff and continuum. Steve Jordan is still pretty cozy in his laurels as all-around best drummer for john I think, he's got such an incredible creativity even when he's not just filling in behind the kit, he's had a lot of the ideas that went into battle studies. But this Shawn guy just has that classic wall of sound feel to him, tons of smashes and energy, very rock. I'm thinking Taylor Hawkins-ish.
