I am sitting here in Scandinavia and listen to what you say. I know nothing about the idiot, but it makes me so glad to see, once again, that there are people like you, there, across the ocean. Right on, Sister.
WHATS WRONG WITH AFRICA HAVE HE BEEN THERE? YOU THINK YOU GOT IT SO BIG NOW YOU FEEL BETTER THAN EVERYBODY ELSE. GOD GIVE GOD TAKE. IF I WERE YOU I WOULD WATCH OUT WITH THEM EASY MAKING MONEY.
Why are you blaming his parents? He is a human, and he has the right to say what he feels. C'mon now, sis! I am a mother of 4 sons and I have been told my son said somethings that were not representative of the way I raised him. But I am not the one to blame for his behaviour [in a sense, yeah] only If I know about what he says and I do nothing. But for the parents who do, do something and try to correct the SINFUL nature that SOCIETY has our children thinking is ok, STOP PUTTIN BLAME ON US.
@icemeltsinspring No disrespect to you, but you shouldn't make excuses. At what point is Black America going to take responsibility for ourselves and our children? This is why we're in such bad shape today! Of course he has the right to say whatever he feels, but we all have the right to react to his comment. Society defiantly plays a role in trying to brainwash many of our youth, but you are your child's FIRST teacher!
Very sad ...Just tell me that there is more to the continent of AFRICA than what the KKK media show. There are huge and beautiful country like; GHANA, EGYPT,SOUTH-AFRICA,NIGERIA ,etc.... I am glad that you guys start correcting each other about MAMA AFRICA..
Yet even though I think and I hope that SB's comments & general attitude is the epitome of ignorance & disrespect, I must admit that I realize that the hard, cold, sad fact is that if the horrors of slavery - especially forced miscegenation - had not occurred, most black Americans wud not even exist. Such is the paradox...
I guess - I've made mistakes I'd rather forget. But all in all, I came out alright. Issue 2- and I'll try to be more brief: I love my black ancestors and have always been very aware of their sufferings. This is probably why at the age of 10 I had the presence of mind to interview my great grandmother about her life experiences & those of her elders. And why I tend to question the crap out of most black elderly people. Yet
from the downright obscenity and disrespect of women that the song put forth. Yet here I am today, living what many wud probably call a Leave It To Beaver type of life style. Married, in a 2 parent household with my hubby and son. Read the bible with my child daily, stay at home mom, don't go clubbing, only parties I attend are family parties, don't even drive myself anywhere unless I have to. Now am I saying listening to stuff like Nikki had no negative effect on me? No, I'm not. Like anyone -
fact, my anthem was Nikki. The lyrics went something like "I knew a lil girl named Nikki I guess u cud say she was a sex fiend, I met er in a hotel lobby masterbat'in wit a magazine, She said how'd u like to (???), n I cud not resist one sole lil naked grind!!!" I wud ingest that song several times a day, daily. Luv luv luv'd it! Looking back, although I sang the words, it never really occurred to me exactly what they meant. I guess that my youth, and... I don't know, dumbness, insulated me
Good morning! Believe it or not, I have mixed feelings about this issue. Of course, I realize that SB spews ignorance. And I realize that he and his kind have influence over my son and his peers. Yet there are 2 issues which I can't ignore. 1 - Youth have always ingested ignorance thru music, and have seemed to come out just fine. Some cuts & scrapes I'll admit, but overall we and our ancestors did alright. Let me just talk about my own experience. In my youth, I cudn't get enough of Prince. In
If I ever were to see Soulja Boy's parents I would, like Stylistic would say, beat "Shoe Glue" outta them and , for get Superman, I'll 'Hulk Smash" that (OOOOOH!!)
MUCH RESPECT! for your intelligent feedback. I have heard this said before by foolish people, Soulja boys remark is hurtful and disgusting, and the hight of ignorance, I hope he lives to apologise. Thank you very much for the info!
