I'm surprised at how much I like this. I don't like some of her mezzo roles, Carmen being the main culprit. But this is lovely. This is the fourth or fifth time I change my mind about a singer for the better after having heard them in Baroque material...
I tried to find a soprano who would do this opera with me. The bass part is pretty challenging. I found a girl with wonderfull breasts but she had problems with the range. Ah.. The priorities of youth.
true, true. i find her voice extremely pleasing to the ear, and almost soprano like in her earlier years. if i'm not wrong, her "per lui che adoro" here is simply unbeatable.
