What if the curvature of the helmet does not match the curvature of the mount? I have a helmet that seems to be more rounded than the sticky area of the mount and so contact is not very good?
@1FlyNik Hmmm.. well do you have vents in your helmet? you could use the vented helmet mount. Or the Head band mount, just straps over your helmet or head. Or switch up your helmet?
Great vid! Helped a lot. For snowboarding, what angle/where on my helmet should I put it (top or in the front more)? I'm trying to get a little bit of me or my board but mostly where I'm going. :)
is the mount water proof ? i want to attach it to a paddle board (Racing Mal) which can be a big impact if i nose dive or get in a small barrel. they say dont use suction mount so idk cause i wanna get a go pro. ive seen the base plate one but it looks rally hard to remove cause i cant have it on in comps, Help ??
@waverippa97 it is for sure, but the surf board mount sounds like it would be more up your alley. If you have a evening to remove the mount before a comp then it wouldn't be that much of a trouble. Just remove the mount the same way you would the flat or curved mount. Just need a hot blow dryer:)
@Evilcheeseeater not unless you squeeze the clip with your hand. there is a little white plug that comes with the camera to stop vibration and the possible chance your camera pops off after hitting a branch ect.. Would be extremely difficult, next to impossible for this to happen.
@PointOfViewCameras that i mean is if i don't want to take the curved adhesive of & want it to be there forever can i just leave it there or how will i do?
@ViBzZx Not sure. All depends how well you heat it up. I have used the same one three or four times but past that i really don't know. Heat it up and make sure the next surface area is CLEAN!
Most people like to mount the camera directly on top of there helmet, feels the most comfortable. Whatever you choose, just make sure your curved mount matches the curve on your helmet.
As far as removing the mount, just use a blowdryer until the mount slowly peels off with the adhesive intact.
@victorox98 No. I have had one of those mounts on my helmet for almost a year and a half now. I could grab a blow dryer and take it off even now without much bother.
@draysondesign How many Adhesive Mounts does it come with? And what's with the Head Strap, I don't understand what it does, also if I put one Adhesive Mount on the top, and one on the side of my helmet and leave it forever, is that okay? Or will I need to buy a new one after like... a year?
@SadWatermelon Well if you get the Helmet Hero, you get two curved two flat.
Head strap, for your head! Without the helmet.
If you leave the mounts on your helmet.. they will be there until you take them off. I have had one mounted on my helmet for almost two years now. Just use a blow dryer to get it off when you do want to remove it.
i'm thinking about getting one for snowboarding. Could someone just take it off of your helmet and run? is there anything else keeping it secure and on?
@npalmern Cant see someone trying to rip a camera off the top of your head if your wearing it. If someone did try, you would have a good few minutes before removing the camera would be possible. This would give you plenty of time to smash the potential GoPro thief with your snowboard... or call for help.

How many time after the first time you install it can you use it without it falling off.
Sk8Abel3 10 months ago
@Sk8Abel3 Just depends on how well you remove it. If your second guessing on how sticky it is, use a new one. But roughly three or four times.

@Sk8Abel3 If you have the time, reheat the mount before you stick it on!
