Bret Hart has written about it in a column on his website. Apparently, Goldberg grabbed Jericho by the throat and Jericho replied by wrestling him to the floor and finally locking him in a front facelock. He tried breaking free, but couldn't...and Jericho choked him out.

According to Jericho's first book, Goldberg hated the "Greenberg" angle they did because it made him "look silly", hence the fight backstage. Shocked Jericho because he thought Goldberg would be cool with it.

I know. All that brilliant build-up for NOTHING. It would've been a sure-fire main-event, made money and put PPV buyrates through the roof. The angle between Goldberg and Jericho was so hot and could've catapulted Chris to the top at WCW. But that was WCW for you. Not taking advantage of all the golden opportunities and instead insisting that bullshit like the Fingerpoke of Doom was the way to go.
